Another hoola hoop (pun ) day at good ole Loyalty..........we swing the hoop with our hips as our feeble feelings are expressed in a chicken little style reminiscent of the last time we lost an AC or THREE................c'mon everyone , grow a pair and support the Illini with all your O & B hearts.............We have lost AC's and had players transfer out before and look what we accomplished last year ..

We ended a nineteen year drought of reaching the Sweet Sixteen and even went a step further and made the Elite 8......do you all sleep with the lights on cause your too scared to be in the dark.........Same as here and being in the dark to the behind the scene's
going's on.....We have great insiders and we as Illini nation are more informed than the rest of college BB as to what to expect with our beloved...........

There are medications to relieve your apparent trauma syndrome's that affect's your posting of intelligent thoughts and idea's.......
Everyone is entitled to share their opinions here and I fully support that fact .........But think before you post whatever enters your head in the heat of the moment................

Chester left for his own reasons....Whatever the reason is , I support his choice as he is an alum and bleeds O & B .........To try to investigate his reason opens up conspiracy theories and those lead to more theories and so and so on......makes little sense to me to beat the dead horse into a mangled mess of horsesh*t that smells worse than Chester leaving........

But that's the Loyalty way and I support it as a community thing......I might not agree with what's posted but I respect the right to you posting whatever it is ....................................I imagine there are many posters like me who read a sentence or two of a lot of posts but then scroll past to the next post......I'm sure a lot of peeps either have me on ignore or just scroll past my highly intelligent posts (lol ) and that's OK with me.........

What's not OK is to take some disheartening news and try to turn it into a scandal of epic proportions.....We are better than that or at least we should be.........

JMHO.............................

Here's my take on this. Ultimately, wins and losses are directly on the shoulders of the head coach. When Brad was on the "hot seat" by some because of not making the second weekend, I didn't see one comment about Chester being on the "hot seat". Not one.

Brad was Chester's boss. If he has a vision on how to get the job done to continually get us to the second weekend and to Final Fours, he needs to do what he needs to do. Whoever disagrees with that can move along.

People need to realize that the portal operates in all directions. Players can come and go as they please and coaches have to deal with that. There's absolutely no loyalty anymore. A head coach can't operate with loyalty only being one sided and the players just have to deal with that. The assistant's have to deal with that. Brad's job is to put his best team on the floor and with the portal moving that target by the second.....he needs to have full control of HIS program. I love Chester and he'll be missed, but it'll never be his head on the public opinion chopping block.

Look what happened here. Chester leaves and the IMMEDIATE daggers and/or questions were directed at Brad. Nobody considered that Chester MAYBE put his own feelings and focus on himself over the good of the team as a whole. Who knows if that's the case, but it's a definite possibility.

The next hire has to have the same vision as his boss and if they don't....keep the line of candidates moving.

It's interesting how the assumption is Chester chose to make a lateral move at a "lesser" school vs considering Chester got fired/asked to move on. Who we replace him will be telling

Everything we’ve heard from people that know a lot more than most of us indicated that Brad wasn’t trying to push anyone out unless it was a HC gig. I guess somegring could’ve changed recently, but my guess is no.

Besides, if he was, I’m assuming he wouldn’t have waited until after boyton and OA were (technically) off the market

I'm not worried about the opening on the staff at all. We know this drill, we are going to get somebody who is going to deliver high quality talent to us immediately.

It just stinks to lose someone whose presence on the bench really connected the eras of the program. In this chaotic era those little things are nice.

Hints? Trying to read the tea leaves from prev posts and I’m not getting there. Think one of OA, Yaklich, or Boynton would be phenomenal. If the second spot opens up as was alluded to as a possibility who might we be interested in. (I forgot the Tenn assistant as well but know very little about him other than apparently he was instrumental in Knecht)

Boynton just signed on the coaching staff at Michigan. He won't be at Illinois next season

I think BU has something up his sleeve.
Based on previous discussions.
Boyton - now at Michigan
Antigua - following Cal to Arkansas
Yaklich - available
Rod Clark - Tennessee
Not sure if the top 2 are still possibilities, but I am sure there are others we are unaware of at this time!

None of the above. Much bigger name than Yaklich

Ok hear me out. Chet got us to the E8, but now we need our NC assistant. Different set of skills. CF raised our floor, now we take that final step.

Chet got us to the E8? He raised our floor?

Explain.

He wasn't even our top assistant and not to be too tough on him, if he were THAT highly thought of, he wouldn't be at West Virginia, unless it were to be him being named the head coach.

If any assistant raised the floor, it's TA.

Chester played for Weber. Old school. Illini are top 10 program now. You get recruited over every class. Earn your minutes. Same thing happens KY Duke AZ UNC UConn

Amani is only experienced 4/5 on our roster. Would be hard to find better opportunity.

Geez.

He's not saying he was the principal reason. But clearly part of the reason. Now you get a new cog in the machine that helps you get to the next step.

No one individual is the entire reason.
