You gotta admit…at one time Knight was the reel deal…a reel, basketball brain-sturgeon! But somewhere along the line it all went to his head…and he started to think he was Cod. I remember when Davis came in…he had success of course…but it always seemed like a bit of a fluke to me.

My theory is the well dried up when Florida State decided to spend every available dollar on football in hopes of the next conference realignment. Hamilton likely owns every conceivable FSU bball record down there because the Seminoles have been a bad basketball program before him (and likely after him).

If FSU's plan is still to invest everything in football (taking Hamilton down to his final contract year is a big signal that FSU could care less about bball right now) then they'll need to think more outside the box on their bball hire. They need to find a coach who's had success when they don't. My coaching list for them would be way different than others: I would have Shaka Smart, Randy Bennett, Grant McCasland, Andy Enfield, and maybe Steve Pikiell on my list. Those coaches are big floor raisers and have shown to do well with little resources.

Shaka won’t ever leave Marquette …

Bennett is a west coast guy and he likes where he’s at …

McCasland is on the fast track to coaching anywhere he wants … He’s on Carolina’s short list … There’s talk Texas would fire Terry if they could get McCasland on board …

Enfield is a name for FSU but them Dallas boosters are really giving him a lot of NIL …

I’ve been told Pikiell is on the hot seat at Rutgers …

May made so much sense for them last year and everyone but them could see it. Was Woodson's buyout just too big last year?

The majority of the boosters and AD were happy to let him go last year … The AD doesn’t make decisions at IU … It’s controlled by one or two MEGA boosters … One of those guys is paying Ballo, Reneau and Mgbako by himself … And he ponied up HUGE money for Cignetti contract and NIL for him …

After last night … He is reportedly over it … Woodson will be gone and they want May but would take Beard …

Does May have any kind of buyout at Michigan? I would think they would have put something in the contract to protect them from this very situation

May’s buyout, should he leave for another job, starts at $5 million and decreases each of the next four years, from $4 million to $2 million to $1 million to $500,000 …

$4 or $5 million ain’t nothing to IU …

I mostly don't like this because I think May will do a good job at IU, but for Michigan to have found a good replacement for Juwan, only to have him bounce to coach another team in the conference after just one season is objectively hilarious.

Names for IU from one of their top boosters …

Dusty May … Chris Beard …

I think Beard is a much better coach than May. That past arrest is probably something they want to steer clear of though.

Hmmm... Mark Cuban? Carl Cook? Herb Simon? Jim Irsay?

IU wants a winner … They don’t care about baggage at this point …

And if it ain’t IU hiring Beard … It’ll be someone else … The charge was dropped …

IU wants May … They’ve made it clear …

The rumor in Bloomington is that Carl brought in Cig. Spending $10M or so a year on IU sports would be nothing to him, that's like a week's worth of interest from his portfolio.

Carl is very involved … Especially financially …

Funny thing to me is that he went to Purdue … 😂

Andy Mohr is very involved … Cuban doesn’t give as much as people think …

Yea but his dad and Bob Knight were real close and his company has hired a long line of IU athletes - plus he lives in Bloomington. I'm sure he only went to Purdue because IU doesn't have engineering.

I saw him at the Illinois game in Bloomington, still the same nonchalant dude walking around like he's not the richest man in IN lol
