You are the assistant coach making good money as Daddy Brad makes millions!?

This …

Day job … Good balance between work and still being involved with basketball on a daily basis with Jeremy and Field of 68 … Plus he’s been getting more into being on the announcing side as well …

No reason to dive into the time and commitment of coaching …
If I were him, I'd lean fully into the announcer/analyst role. Low stress, seems like fun.

I don't when that dude sleeps. In his podcasts with Werner, he talks about watching multiple games pretty much every night, and he watches and breaks down a ton of film, as well. He's a machine.

Kids got $$$, Moms got no show jobs. Kids got cars. Moms got cars. Kids got no show summer jobs. Moms got sweet deals on nice apartments. This stuff has gone on for 50+ years. Is it legal now? No. But irrelevant. The kid has $500k or more to take care of all that himself now. Which is what I meant when saying this stuff is all legal now with NIL.

That’s no joke … Look at February 1st to now …

They should’ve lost every game …

**This is not me saying Dusty isn’t a good coach**
Not saying he is not a good coach, either. Actually I think he probably is but I want to see more year to year adjustment considering today's environment. He has done a good enough job so far.

1. No where did I say Dusty would end up at Indiana or Illinois … In fact I said that Dusty was a little ticked they gave Woodson another year instead of hiring him and idk if he’ll be able to get over that … Did I say Indiana would go after Dusty ? Yes … And they did … Why do you think Michigan extended him in year freaking 1 even though they’ve been absolute 💩 down the stretch ??? If we had to go into search mode would Dusty be a name even after the extension ??? Yes … He would … Josh likes the guy …

2. UNC was/is interested in Brad … That’s literally from Brad’s agent … Just because Davis got an extension doesn’t change that ? Lol … It’s UNC … They may say they’re keeping Davis now but if there’s a legit chance to upgrade ? And especially if they get absolutely obliterated by Duke at home on Saturday … Things can change …

You wanna come at me for what I put on here ? That’s fine … Just make sure you’ve got the facts straight …

To be totally fair, a few things that have been said about Dusty could also be said about Bielema. They just keep winning, though (I’m directing my comments at you, despite quoting your post. I did that to emphasize some of the comments about May.

With transfer portal the job has changed. He has to be on new job at Miami ASAP to retain current players and recruit portal players Basketball transfer portal opens March 24. Duke could be playing Final Four on April 7.
Yep, I get the reasoning. It shouldn’t open til after the national champ game. An advantage of hiring an assistant versus a current head coach that wouldn’t leave the team until their season is finished…most likely.

I should be more used to this stuff nowadays, but…wow.

Talked to a couple of very big Indiana boosters tonight …

Don’t rule out Josh Schertz as a name for Indiana …
I know nothing about this guy other than he's never been to the NCAA tournament, let alone win a game in the tourney. I can't imagine that would sit well with the Indiana faithful.

NIT runner up doesn't jump out to me as a resume. I certainly wouldn't be jumping for joy if Illinois was considering him, based off paper resume. Maybe I'm missing something

Indiana State is a TOUGH job and he flipped that thing in 2 years and they won 32 games … THIRTY TWO … There is ZERO debate that they should’ve been in the tourney … That was a committee issue … They lost 7 games total … 5 of those 7 to Bama, Drake (x2), Michigan State and Seton Hall by 2 in the final game of the NIT …

That’s a heck of a season …

I think he’s a fantastic coach …

That being said, if I’m a IU fan … He’s not good enough …

He wouldn’t be on Whitman’s list of Top 10 candidates and I can say that with certainty …

I believe Chris Beard has the potential to be a better coach, but I can't overlook the domestic abuse allegations. Even though he was acquitted, that police report was truly eye-opening. I also strongly oppose comparisons to the TSJ situation—TSJ was falsely accused of something he clearly did not do, with absolutely no supporting evidence, whereas there was evidence involved in Beard's case.
Agree, the alcohol problem (hopefully he has gotten that straight) and allegations that got him fired would be hard to overlook no matter the coach.
