They get to be called the chittlings of GodWhat’s so special about cheesemakers?
Sounds good. No matter what happens tomorrow or the rest of the tournament, I'm hoping to see what this team can be next year - being a little older/more experienced and with (hopefully) a couple great portal adds to round out the team and put us into the very top tier going into next year with Brad.I'm going to try to bite my tongue, but all I will say is there's a 99.9% chance Texas won't pay Brad's buyout.
It actually could help Josh's case when trying to get money to fund the program. He can point to the programs that might poach Brad and say it'd be embarrassing to get outspent for him by them, or something to that effect. Sort of like if your boss told you that you need to show that you're looking elsewhere to get a raise at your current job so he can tell leadership they need to raise your pay to keep you.At one point does Josh get tired of watching his coach flirting with every new job. His reps job to do it or not, would get old if it was your wife/significant other always flirting.
On the flip side, he had the Murray twins, Weiskamp and Garza come through and accomplished very little with them, plus Iowa’s ticket sales are at like a 6-decade low. I don’t think people realize how far the fan support has fallen, and I think the AD was rightfully scared of trotting Fran out there another year.Iowa getting McCollum is the only way it makes sense for them to fire McCaffery, given what little resources Iowa has for NIL. I thought Fran did a pretty decent job with what little talent they have had over the years.
Josh has been thinking about this possibility for a LOT longer than any one of us except for the insiders, of course.JW is in a tough spot. On the off chance that BU takes the Texas job, would we still have solid options left by the time it happens? If we wait too long, do we risk being late to the party?
You never know till you shoot your shot.I'm interested in Halley Berry...doesn't mean it's mutual
I can say you're 99.9 percent wrong if Texas and their Boosters really really want Brad. If just interested you're right but if they really want him you're wrong.I'm going to try to bite my tongue, but all I will say is there's a 99.9% chance Texas won't pay Brad's buyout.
Why would we be looking for a coach when we have ours in place? Who just went to an Elite 8 last year..?? Josh has his list and will make a run if and when it is needed.
- Limited Candidate Pool – By April, most top candidates will have already been hired elsewhere or secured extensions with their current schools. The best coaches are typically scooped up early in the cycle.
- Recruiting & Roster Management Issues – A late search means Illinois would risk losing recruits and current players to the transfer portal. With the new portal windows, uncertainty around coaching staff can lead to an exodus of talent.
- Staff & Infrastructure Delays – A late hire means the new coach will have less time to assemble their staff, evaluate the roster, and implement their system before summer workouts begin.
- Increased Competition – If Illinois waits until April, they could be competing with other big programs making late moves, such as Texas in this scenario. That could force them to settle for a second-tier candidate instead of having the leverage they do now.
What if Indy is Brad's agent? We do this every year and it's Indy's freaking fault!
Pretty sure he is Sean's agent, if he were in fact an agent. What if Indy is Brad's agent?![]()
Wrong. Every year Indy says "no freaking out"We do this every year and it's Indy's freaking fault!
Is it better not to shoot your shot than to be shot down? Asking for myself. No friend involved. You never know till you shoot your shot.
It might have been said earlier, but Will Wade probably accepted his next job a bit prematurely, and could have held out for a better spot.

I’d leave too if a guy that knows less about basketball than me was running a defense and couldn’t even guard me!Chester won’t be coming back …
Part of the reason he left was because Hamer was running the defense …

Is he still with CAA or did he follow Bret Just to WME?If I was Brad’s agent I’d be doing things a little differently than they’re currently being done …
