That loud cheer we heard is the UCLA athletic administration’s response to that chatter, particularly if the Goldens really do want to return to the West Coast.
But in all seriousness, what is the ratio of Cronin’s buyout to Golden’s buyout? If the ratio is greater than 1, I’d imagine UCLA could negotiate to get that closer to 1 than it is.

I just read the top 3 NIL teams this year were Indiana, Kansas State and Arkansas. Two of them missed the tournament and the third was definitely not a juggernaut

Cronin’s buyout is $16 million through March 31st and $10 million from April 1st through March 31st of 2026 …
Golden’s buyout is near $14 million …
UCLA would take less for Cronin’s buyout and then use that $$$ to go get Golden … At least that’s what they think they’re gonna do …
Golden is fielding offers from other CBB teams and NBA teams at this point …

I think Golden is a really good coach, but what do NBA teams see in him that make them think he's an NBA head coach? There have not been many successful college to pro transitions in the major sports, so this makes me curious. He seems to have the "anti-Hurley"/Brad Stevens/Mark Daigneault type of demeanor that would be well-received among NBA players, but what else would he have?
Full disclosure that when Brad Stevens was announced as Boston's head coach, I said Stevens would be back in college in two years, so I'm clearly not the expert on matters such as this. But seeing Todd Golden as a possible NBA head coach isn't something I would have considered 48 hours ago . . .

I'm guessing that we won't be getting any sort of public information unless or until said coach's tournament run is over (and I'm assuming said coach has more pressing duties getting his current team ready for the NCAA tournament).
