When the goal of 99% of all fan bases is to 1)Make the tournament and 2)Have a high seed in the tournament.....you avoid stupid scheduling. There is zero upside there. As we saw, metrics matter.
We had an EXTREMELY entertaining schedule this year and none of it took playing a mid major on the road to make it that way.
1)Stay away from holiday tournaments
2)Stay away from mid major road games
3)Stick to home and home versus the big boys
4)Play a strong, but not daunting, home schedule
5)Don't load up with patsies.
You never want to voluntarily put yourself into a Q3 road game. It happens enough in conference.
The fan/player experience comes in March.
