I mean underwood wasn’t given 6 All Americans. He recruited his All Americans. How many did we have post Dee Brown? No way can Underwood be given top 15 resources and 6 All Americans in an 8 year period and reach 2 Sweet 16s in 13 years and it’s acceptable. Way underperformance.
If you think Brad needs to be fired, you're saying Josh is failing and we should think about replacing him. That math don't add.
My response isn't to DevILLDawg specifically, I'm just using the bold to launch my rant. As I read this thread and the demands that Brad make changes or he's fired, I wonder why any coach would consider coming to a program with such an entitled and whiny fan base.
Maybe there's something rotten in the MBB program that Josh needs to address, but nobody on this board has made that case, and there's a lot of evidence that Josh takes action when needed.
Firing a person you hired is your failure, not theirs. People failing at their jobs is a leadership failure on your part, not theirs. Demanding a subordinate shake up their team is a failure on your part, not theirs. I get the sense a high percentage of this board views 'leadership' as yelling louder and escalating threats and demands. Pathetic.
Every leader needs a hammer in their tool belt, and needs to know how to use it. But if they ever have to reach for it, they already failed. Getting belligerent isn't masculine or macho, it means you screwed up, put yourself in a corner, and now need to fight your way out.

What stands out to me is that two of the most consistent programs in our conference don't seem to have that problem. Yes, they've had years where they s&@! the bed, but so have we. I'd prefer the consistency to reloading every year.Anyone thinking this is a Brad Underwood only type of offseason needs too look around at other programs. Just look at the sweet 16 alone — this graphic shows those teams and labels where each one’s starting five started out. As you can see, offseason roster reconstruction is a college basketball problem, not an Illinois problem.

I promised an update …
Here’s what I’ve got …
Reason for Mack not going to Xavier … AD went rogue and against boosters … Pitino better win and win big …
I expect Willard to Nova …
Buzz Williams to Maryland is “done” if Willard goes to Nova and I’ve heard Chester Frazier would likely join Buzz at Maryland … Could see Buck and Hansberry at Maryland … Wouldn’t that be something …
I’m hearing if Tennessee goes out strong this could be it for Barnes … Same goes for Izzo … I’d put both in retirement watch but nothing set in stone …
Lastly - I am hearing that Texas A&M would pursue Brad if they were to be in search mode …
Not that simple. Example A - Lovie to Bret. I would say Josh managed a situation well that had turned in the wrong direction. Leadership isn't about making a decision and living with it forever, it's about recognizing that sometimes the circumstances change and you need to make a new decision. My response isn't to DevILLDawg specifically, I'm just using the bold to launch my rant. 6 straight 20+ win seasons in one of the 2 best conferences in the nation will do that for youFor as many faults as BU has, innumerable according to Loyalty, it's wild how many other programs seem to want to poach him.
