Would definitely be interesting to see how that coaching search would go, too. Would it end up as much of a disaster as UK's did, or would they get their top targets.Really curious if Self decides to call it quits. Multiple issues with his heart, all the drama this year with Peterson. I could see him saying screw it and calling it a career .

Would not hurt my feelings to see Dusty out of the B1G. I don't care for him, but dude can coach. IU has to be sick that they shot themselves in the foot on him. They got to see first hand how that would look in the ASU game …
Hiring him would be an absolute mistake for Kansas …
You take your pick of Nate Oats, Todd Golden, Tommy Lloyd, Dusty May or Grant McCasland …
Then you give that guy a blank check …
Anything else is failure …
oats is a distant 5th for me the other 4 are about evenThey got to see first hand how that would look in the ASU game …

Do you think they would all take the offer? Michigan and Arizona strike me as sort of in the Illini tier of jobs, in that while it is undeniable Kansas is a "better job," the gap isn't SO big that Michigan/Arizona/Illinois couldn't theoretically fend off KU's offer with a counter offer and intangible stuff (e.g., liking one AD over the other or something like that). They got to see first hand how that would look in the ASU game …

Agreed. Both AZ and MI are heavy favorites to with the whole thing this year. MI had an insane amount of NIL funds. Not sure what KU offers outside of a title change and intense pressure.Do you think they would all take the offer? They can't be dumb enough to hire an assistant with 1 year of college basketball experience just because he's an alum. How many examples do we have to go through. My guess is Jacque Vaughn
Totally agree. Kansas views itself as the epicenter of college basketball, and truthfully, they're probably not too far off. Not the type of school to hire a guy just b/c he's part of the "Jayhawk family." He's not Jon Scheyer. Which means, they would go out and have their pick of the best of the best in college basketball. Any of the guys you mentioned would be a slam dunk. They got to see first hand how that would look in the ASU game …

Agree. UNC would be in that realm if Davis didn't torpedo the brand.Kansas is a top 3 job in the sport …
In my opinion it’s really Kansas, Kentucky, and Duke in that upper tier …
I definitely agree if I were just making a list of the top jobs. I'm just curious to hear your thoughts if a program like Michigan could do enough to keep Dusty if Kansas really wanted him, even if KU is the clearly better job. In other words, if KU starts out as a 10/10 job and Michigan is an 8/10 job, could Dusty be convinced that getting those extra 2/10 points of prestige isn't worth the hassle of the move?Kansas is a top 3 job in the sport …

I'm curious how much being outside of the Power Two is going to eventually hurt the desirability of some of these programs. I guess that applies to Kansas being in the Big XII, but it seems to be a bigger issue for the ACC. UNC will likely remain an elite job as far into the future as anyone can see, but it will be fascinating to see how much closer some jobs can get to that prestige simply by virtue of having more money coming in every single year, plus the stability of the conference.Agree. Just one example and totally my personal opinion, but let's rewind to the 2005 Final Four, where we shared that honor with Louisville and Michigan State. At the time, I would not have said MSU is a better job than Louisville, partly because my impression was (and to a certain extent still is) that so much of their history was jampacked into the Izzo Era. Today, though? I would still say UL is a great job, but I would say MSU is better by a clear margin, mostly by virtue of not being in the ACC.

Kansas State search is a mess but it won’t be Schertz … I think it’ll likely be Casey Alexander …
Hodgson will have his pick of a handful of places … Syracuse makes a lot of sense if they can get everything in alignment for him …
The Randy Bennett rumors make no sense to me … Think he stays put …
Calhoun to Cincy makes too much sense …
If Braeuer is able to take a better job … Don’t rule out Tyler at SFA …
It wasn't the foot in which they shot themselves.Would not hurt my feelings to see Dusty out of the B1G. I don't care for him, but dude can coach. IU has to be sick that they shot themselves in the foot on him.
Agreed. Going to be a hit to the offense, but the right decision for him if he wants to stick with college.youngblood has positioned himself very, very well. he's gonna have HC options. guessing he's gonna leave the nest
will add that I think that's a great idea, because he needs to be in charge and build a track record
