right now, value added at positional coaching is more important than recruiting acumen. the 2024 season will be a defining moment for this program in one way or the other.

I'd have to take exception to that statement. Positional coaching is certainly important but the jimmies and joes must be as good or better than your opponent to have +wins over the long run. I assume that Bret is looking for the candidate you can serve both interests.

Agreed, but I don't really know if how it played out should be interpreted as Bienemy regressing. It very well could be that.... but Washington did OK offensively given they couldn't protect Howell and didn't have much going otherwise in terms of talent.
