Posted this on the basketball side too, but new numbers just released put us as overall the 25th most valuable athletic department in the country, with a valuation of 600 Billion, and yearly revenue of almost 150 Million (!). Taking into account the last decade, we probably have the worst football program compared to any other team in the top 30...really curious about the football/basketball split in these numbers.

Regardless, college athletics (and the coaching carousel) is played between the "Haves" and the "Have-Nots" and thank god we're one of the "Haves" lol

The biggest takeaway I have from this is "Thank God we are in the Big Ten" because if you look at this list, being a Big Ten or SEC team nearly guarantees you a top 50 spot. The ACC has a few teams in the back half of the top 30, but otherwise you pretty much have to be B1G or SEC to make it that high on the list (ND is a unique case that serves as the exception). No teams from Big 12 or any other conference in the top 30.

So basically yes we are in the "Haves" and it is in large part because we have the good fortune of being in the right conference. So much of the revenue is still the media deal, and the Big Ten and SEC have significantly better media deals than anyone else.

Apparently Walters is in play to be Washington (NFL) 's next defensive coordinator

That's a long fall down the pecking order for Cooks. That said, it only takes one coaching tree connection to get right back near the top again.
