Wish Corey Parker had a few more years worth of experience…

Just stating that I think his personality lends to him being a good leader. I hope somehow we are able to keep him around for awhile.

Jay is going with Jimmy to Buffalo is what I got told at supper last night ... AHC, Co-DC and DB coach ...

I don't know about Pittman but I know Norvell has talked with Bret about a role ...

Getting Norvel in the program would be good regardless of the role. Imagine getting him as an analyst then also getting Bullen, Cooks, Hammock and Stepp. Even though I would prefer Ferentz as the TE coach. This would be a grand slam.

(1) We may have regrets for being so eager to see Aaron Henry go. You can make arguments against him, but you also could argue he was a solid but not spectacular DC. Might be the perfect example for someone that's above average in a business that demands excellence-or-terminated.

(2) Hearing Miller is going to stick around as o-line coach is deflating.

AH should not have been elevated to DC. Was a damn good DB coach and impactful recruiter. The D needed a new voice and Coach B needs blame to since ingame changes suckec.

Bart is much better coach than Ahen is D coordinator……

It’s been 10 hours since Indy Illini Fan’s post. Is no one going to say it? Fine! I’ll do it …

“Miles Smith” is another name.

Agreed. But I think A Hen was considered the same. His enthusiasm and personality was a big +, but his inexperience has led us here.

A Hen is honestly on a nice career arc. Bret helped propel it, imo.

A good defensive coordinator has to bring pressure at least sometimes to be effective.i agree he wasn't as bad as most most on this board make it out to be myself included.however you cant give 10+ yards cushion from the line of scrimmage and be a great defense lets be completely honest last year's record was because of luke and the offense that they won alot of games in spite of.also 3rd down conversion rate explains ahen perfectly glad he landed on his feet but think we will do alot better for our new Dc

Here is the latest update ...

Bullen & Wilcox continue to be the two names I am hearing ... Obviously cases to be made for both on who would be the better hire ... Obviously I know Charlie a little bit so I am biased there ... Wilcox is a dang good coach though ... Think either would be a fantastic hire ...

Look for Kerry Cooks as a possible addition as Safeties coach ... Regardless of DC hire ...

Bret looking into learning the ole 2 Stepp as well ... There is some interest on both sides there ...

I don't expect any more changes on the offensive staff ... Just the addition of a RB and TE coach ...
If it’s between those two, I would personally prefer Wilcox. Feel like inexperience is what hurt us with AHen.

Not only that but the way illinois fans react to his departure is embarrassing. Not for Henry but the Illini base.

He wasn't a great DC, I have no issue with the change, but he's been very loyal and great for the program.

Ive read over and over and over about how can Illinois football fans complain about anything given 19 wins the past 2 years. Best ever. One negative word on recruiting and STFU, we've had 19 wins, stupid. Yet for so many Henry is exempt from the 19 wins.

He got the job because Bielema believed in him over Kane and everyone else. He didn't assign himself to the job.

There's no guarantee the next guy will be better.
