it more likely that full retirement wasn’t all that great & his wife told him to get out & do something to better pass the time . Once he was coaching again he realized he missed it and when the spot opened up , bingo

He was still on the staff even after he retired. LA has a lot of talent coming up in the program. The game with Mt Carmel should be a good one.

Probably not a big surprise to see Denny looking at some of his co-workers. Seems like a promotion for Taursini, so best of luck to him. When you have a really good athletic department, your good people will be sought after.

Not a surprise at all, such poaching is very common across all fields when a boss leaves.

Was much more just an opportunity for a bad breakfast pun to my immature mind. :)
