Running out the guy who could end up the leader in all time wins?

What am I not understanding here?
It's the classic mediocrity problem. Never so bad that you know you have to fire him.

No tourney appearance since 2011. Not even NIT since 2014.

I'm sure a lot of fans wish it happened sooner.

By current record doesn't appear to be a dumpster fire. Probably a good opportunity especially since Bloomington is currently a dumpster fire.

Weber's AD has explicitly stated that Weber is coming back next year. They said that they are pretty much ignoring this year due to CV and injuries.

I do not expect Groce to ever coach at a P5 school again. I don't see him succeeding at any level above "we play hoops because we enjoy it." He was exposed pretty badly. His game plans and in-game coaching were horrendous. His one skill seems to be that everyone likes him, especially moms. That is great for remaining on the list. It isn't a real qualification for a recruit that is trying to make basketball their career. It will win many non-career basketball recruiting battles.

Respectfully disagree on your conclusion on Groce. If he keeps having success in the MAC and gets a tournament heater, he will absolutely have another P5 team knock on his door.

The reason I disagree is it's also possible that he learned from his stint here at Illinois, continues to improve on the X's and O's, and fills his staff with personnel to help round out offset his weaknesses. I'd say there's a pretty high chance Groce is still here if Holtmann doesn't get the Gardner Webb job. A coaching staff with Holtmann and Brandon Miller on it would have really helped with schemes and talent development.

All that being said, I wouldn't mind if he was able to leverage the Akron/LeBron relationship and build the Zips into a perennial top 25 team.

Looks like another potential name may be added to the coaching carousel:

It's more than pretty hot... Boosters want him gone. He's going to have to turn it around, fast.

Don't think it will be Beilein, think he's done with college. Some names that IU boosters are tossing around are Jamie Dixon, Jerod Haase and Travis Steele.
That's not a great list if that is the IU booster goal. I understand it hasn't been good at Indiana but I'm not sure I'd be excited to switch out Miller for any of the three. Steele is their best choice of those three.

Let's not forget that Steele was right in the middle of the IDKWTI fiasco. Not sure if any of the official Sampscum got on him, but best I can tell he's cut from the same cloth.

I am very familiar with the Xavier program and Steele. Known Travis for quite a long time. He definitely ain't afraid to play a little dirty.

Hey Indy, what are you hearing on Goode's chances for MR BB?

Personally don't think he gets it. I think he should though, he's got an undefeated team and has had to share being the lead dog with Loyer and has made it work. He does things that don't appear in the stat sheet. Great team guy, well-spoken kid. I can't wait for him to get to CU.

Everyone around here says Kaufman or Furst will get it though and they're both incredible players but to me, I think it should be Luke.

Essentially Lansing was likely told he'd either have to win the MVC title or make the NCAA tournament (which the last two times the Sycamores have made it it's been in a year ending in 1) or he'd be out of a job.

Gonna be tough to recruit a new coach considering Lansing was only making about $250K. Goodman had a follow up tweet to the one I posted stating that Indiana State is arguably the worst job in the Valley (Only one that's probably worse is Valpo due to uncertainty with finances at that school).

I don't know if Miller is on the hot seat or not, but it wouldn't surprise me if IU goes after Beilein. I hope not, but seems like a good fit.
Yeah man that's why "Bill Self" I quite worrying about coaches like Miller getting axed..
Beilein would have Indiana Rolling !!
We'll see when smoke clears šŸ˜‰
