Especially if he wins the title this year...it would be a nice coda on his Gonzaga career...and about the only move he could make that would seem like moving up.
I would be surprised Mark Few would consider the North Carolina opening. He's turned down too many other chances to "move up" from Spokane to do it at this point. Oh, if he wins the national championship at Gonzaga this year, maybe there's a chance he might consider another school. But being a native of Oregon, it's doubtful, IMO, that he would want to move to Carolina.

If they hire an outsider, you have to figure Nate Oats is one of the first calls, if not THE first call.

NC still an elite job.. have to think Oats, Drew, Few, Stevens, Holtmann are realistic

So ETSU's coach was forced to resign because he supported his players' kneeling during the National Anthem and their largest booster (an owner of a local car dealership) threatened to pull all of his money unless Shay got fired. Now more than half the team is transferring out. Way to self-impose the death penalty on your own program ETSU, just marvelous work.

Granted it is a mid major, but it goes to show just how much power boosters have behind the scenes at every program (look at UT Austin). I know that we aren't immune to this either, but let's just hope we never get to the point where a glorified used car salesman is calling the shots for our program.

All good names. Still think UNC is a family first place. Previous mentions of Wes Miller make sense to me. He's got to be a top under 40 coach. Stackhouse doesnt do it for me, but who knows.

Great hire by UT. Feel bad for the Red Raiders.

Wes Miller makes a lot of sense. Seen Hubert Davis also mentioned, not as high on him but I get why he would be considered. If I'm UNC I would have asked him to go get a head coaching job elsewhere and prove yourself (feel the same about Scheyer at Duke).

Absolutely bonkers. Lived in Johnson City for a few years and have several family member Alums. The reaction to the kneeling is par for the course down there but to push the coach out after a single year when he was someone actually connected to the success Forbes had before his move to Wake, just makes no sense whatsoever.

I would think UNC would be a tough sell for top coaches. The high academic standards might make it tough to get some top players admitted to the school.

Really? I sure hope there is a high level of sarcasm in this post. Ask Shawn May about that high academic standard for UNC basketball.

Carolina will look for someone in the Carolina Family so we should be safe this time.
My guess is Wes Miller, former gaurd who has done well at UNC Greensboro
Live in Charlotte and also hearing Wes Miller or Hubert Davis. Some say stackhouse. Doesn’t affect us. They will always go with a “Carolina guy”. They keep everything in the “family” then again it did screw us last time
