would be suprised if Payne leaves with all this guaranteed playing time. have reason to believe that podz is staying
Hope this is true. I have a source, not sturdy or piper, that said Payne likely to open back up. Now if he stays, you hire Mitchells guardian and a Mitchell, Payne front court is pretty good.

Low. Wrong. Stupid. OA makes all the since in the world, but dipping out secretly is wrong. No one on here is happy with Kentucky right now, and it only makes them look bad as well. Notice how going back to Oscar T this year, KY has been on our recruiting targets like white on rice? They may as well be Snacks from Kansas right now.

No respect is deserved to be given to both as they are both going to the same place that is up in arms with our prospects currently. Way to bite the hand that fed you and make us look bad in the process. OA is one thing, but for both doing this is low. Wrong. Stupid. Sorry just ranting

I just don’t think hiring a player’s whoever is good for long term health of a program. And Mitchel would be a great player for us, but certainly wouldn’t move the needle like the Porters, Cunningham, or Mobley’s. Think we can do better.

We kinda knew this would happen. Would always love to keep your assistants, but dang if you get a chance to elevate your career and this is the way you wanna do it? More power to ya. We have the HC and AD who hired these guys so we will find another great pair to replace.

I'll reserve judgement of anything until the dust settles. If Josh lets OA go, but reels in a rockstar hire, I'll move on.

I think we see where all this is headed.

Players now firmly have their Portal in place. Next in line? Assistant coaches. All of them revert to one-year contracts with an option to walk at the end of the term. Head coaches? We want stability! Head coaches have to stay at least TWO years before entering the Head Coach Portal.

Finally, we get the Fan Portal. All ball fans get to change their loyalty after each year. The one rule is that you cannot return to the same team until you’ve switched to somebody else for at least a year.

Broadcasters? Sorry. We like the guys The Beloved have. They gotta stay where they are until We say so.

Basketball returning to its true roots. Head out to the court or blacktop. Just choose up sides and have at it. You stay out there until somebody beats you. Next rule change: You Make It You Take It.

Really, what’s going on the Big Ball World right now is a whole lot of fun...

Who among us wouldn't accept a more prestigious job for more money? And even if we match the money, we can't make ourselves Kentucky. I hate the thought of possibly losing both, but I won't vilify anyone for leaving for a better job.

Agreed. Poaching player or recruits is where it would cross the line

As if JW has the authority to just decide he wants to spend that kind of money.
He might not have the authority, but its his responsibility and in his interest to protect what he's already built. Time to think creatively and pull out all of the stops. This moment could have huge implications on the trajectory of the program for the next 5-10 years.

That’s fair, but if $2M is the bar (not to mention the UK prestige we can’t match), I think JW’s energy might be better spent lining up the right next guys.

It's going to be funny hearing the people on here saying Underwood and Calipari are creaning coaches too.
