I'm mentally preparing to lose some players. It might not happen, but I still think it's more likely than not.
You think it’s more likely to lose a current player than not. completely disagree. Maybe a recruit but not likely at all for a current player.

I've got to believe that OA and Chin had some buyout amounts in their contracts.

Is that rumor that Gentry might leave still floating around too?

Cal's buyout is something like $40 million, and I'm not exaggerating, so no matter how badly he might fail I think UK is stuck with him for another few years (unless they set him up for a "for cause" termination, which would be wildly entertaining to watch from the outside).
I hope this buyout keeps Cal losing NIT's at UK for years to come. Don't need them sniffing around for BU after next year. We probably need to start researching if any custodians or cafeteria personnel have ties to UK to plan for their departures as well.

Ugh just remember I have to go to a wedding in Lexington this weekend. Hopefully I don’t fight some of my fiancé’s friends 😂
Good luck. Has to be one of the top 5 most obnoxious fanbases in the country. All sports included.

Now that the news has broken on other media outlets, I’ve seen more people saying part of the reason they are leaving is because they don’t like Gentry.

I know this was bounced around some on this board, was it confirmed? Can it be confirmed?

Now that’s a clickbait article that would get my click

I’ll go.

1. Boston Red Sox
2. Green Bay Packers
3. LA Lakers
4. University of Kentucky MBB
5. Duke MBB

EDIT:
Honorable mentions:
LA Lakers, Raiders fans, STL Cardinals (don’t @ me, I am one), Mizzou anything, Michigan football, Hoosier anything, Cubs fans

I hope Gentry sticks around to ascend up the AC ladder for a few more years, because our team play seemed to pick up after he arrived.

But would like to know more about the internal staff dynamics - may never get the scoop though.

I will never forget taking my twin boys to their first Illinois football game at Memorial Stadium in 2006 and having to listen to the buckeye invasion.
“Seven, eleven, up all night”.
I think I still suffer from PTSD. Although It did make 2007 win that much better.
You know their fans are bad when seven year old boys are getting irritated and frustrated.

Let this play out. Yes, this is disappointing on the surface.

A lot of work to be done. But the two responsible for building this program up from the basement are still leading the way. Curious to why everyone is so devastated by this. This program is in a better spot today than it has been in a long time.

The opportunity to continue to build this program is just as easy to see as the disappointment of today. Underwood and Whitman will get the job done.

I like to see The Rev come back to Illinois. He is a good person and I think has the coaching experience to be effective
