For the 3rd AC spot no….but to join in some capacity yes.
I get so confused on which irvin is which, other than Corry our new women's assistant....are we talking about the Irvin who is coaching at Western Illinois? I didn't realize this assistant to a head coach position (office joke here) would be an upgrade. Or is it a different Irvin we are looking at? And so we are no longer mad about them tweeting after the Loyola loss? Which I guess is OK because they probably just tweeted what 90 percent of us were thinking.

Yep, Nick Irvin is the Irvin some insiders are saying is going to fill Alexander's role. Yeah, he's currently an AC at WIU. He has huge ties to the MIF and the Chitown hoops scene.

Same Irvin. WIU head coach a few years ago only made like 160k. It’s a bottom of the barrel job.

So if we get Irvin, does this mean we have the inside track for most MIF players? Seems like that's how it works for other schools no?

Geoff Alexander's resume is nice. Life-long Illini fan from Lincoln, Illinois, and he's been with Brad for a while. The only position he leaves for is a head coaching job (future Western Illinois Head Coach?). He's the next best thing to hiring an alum. He's put in the work, has the experience and resume, is a big man (coach the bigs?), and is loyal to Brad and the Illini. I'm all for promoting him to assistant coach, as if Brad needs my ok. That, presumably, leaves one AC position to fill.

I know people are talking about Nick Irvin being the next Assistant to the Head Coach. I personally would love to see an alum slotted in that position. What's Aaron Jordan doing these days? It also might be a good jumping-off position for James Augustine. Build and sustain the Illini culture.
