A "sure thing" is never a sure thing until it is. Should be the UI motto.Maybe because his nuts are still sore from the last sure thing.
According to his Creighton bio he played high school bb in Kansas City, but did coach in Decatur, so likely his first job post graduation?Yes, Huss is from Decatur:
DCS going big time: Huss takes over as AD, coach with intentto raise program's status
DECATUR - A chance meeting may eventually prove to have changed the face of basketball in Decatur.herald-review.com
Chin and Mike Irvin had a falling out over the Miller situation. So Chin was in a tough spot there already. I wonder if Kentucky knew about that when they hired him.
Why you gotta be like that?
Big Tim is either a deliberate troll or else he's so cognitively underequipped that there's nothing sporting about toying with him.
And I suppose it's possible that both are true.
Too bad. Seems like he has a good basketball mind and people would be complimentary of him if he wasn’t trying to hog recognition.
Pretty simple actually. He played a summer with MIF and the guards, mostly Watson and Miller, literally never passed him the ball. Big reason he didn’t come hereKalkbrenner is interesting that Chin helped him get with the MIF AAU. Not sure how he ended up at Creighton. He would be an upgrade from Lieb.
FIFYI believe Creighton was a specifically named in the adidas bribery curfuffle. That, and Huss’s history at LaLum, afraid I have to ask, is Huss going to be a little too grey for posters-on-this-forum's taste?

You are correct. I just had this same conversation with a buddy of mine.Huss is originally from Decatur, is he not? Is he related to Kara Demirjian Huss? Kara and her family (Richard) are big donors to the athletic program. ( lead gifts on soccer and track and golf facilities).

Didn't Huss coach Tilmon and JCL at Lalu??I believe Creighton was a specifically named in the adidas bribery curfuffle. That, and Huss’s history at LaLum, afraid I have to ask, is Huss going to be a little too grey for JW’s taste?

You could say the same about any assistant that ever worked for Cal.Someone the other day asked for a definition of "grey" recruiting. I have to say, that's a solid question.
YeDidn't Huss coach Tilmon and JCL at Lalu??
Which would be totally understandable and acceptable. Until, of course, he does it, and then it will be a total slap in the face and show a complete lack of respect. /sAlan's dad is originally from Decatur. Not sure exactly when or where he was born but Decatur and KC are his homes. I went to HS with his father and was also friends of ones of Alan's assistant coaches at Decatur Christian. He would be an excellent fit at Illinois. Dare I say maybe the next HC...sadly I think he would bolt back to Creighton if and when McDerrmit(sp) is replaced.
I had pleasantly forgotten that debacle until now. This gives me Midnight Madness flashbacks.
For those of you that think Irvin is coming to Champaign from Macomb to take Alexander's spot......that is not happening and really wasn't even considered.
