Hypothetical: Let's say it is Brian Randle. Would there be any reason why he couldn't be announced and continue his role for the Suns until their season is over? In the meantime Underwood could tell recruits, "Hey, watch our guys on the bench in the NBA Finals. He'll be your coach here."
Hypothetical: Let's say it is Brian Randle and we announce it without the blessing of the Suns. They take exception and turf him. Our brand new assistant just lost an opportunity to put "NBA Champions" on his resume.

I don't get the rush to announce. I don't seen an upside for anyone other than fans.

If your scenario did play out -- why UI would do this without communicating with the Suns organization is beyond me, but let's keep the game going -- I'd guess Randle would take that as a good sign that it isn't an organization he wants to keep working for. Or, alternatively, maybe he'd deserve it, because why in the world would he or UI do it that way. Makes zero sense. Sounds psychotic, actually. It'd be a good sign everyone involved should be fired.

Hypothetical: What if JW said "#$%@ the Suns! We're taking Brian Randle from you! Orange and Blue, b#%$&es!" I don't see the upside. It's what could happen.

I really really like adding Nick Irvin to the staff. His ties to Mac Irvin Fire are second to none. I would not mind him being the 3rd AC. But if you can add him and a 3rd assistant, it would be great. If NI is Assistant to the Head Coach, he could follow Geoff Alexander's path and become an Assistant in a few years. I like that Brad will not let an assistant linger and not produce. It is what have you done for me lately.
Doing that puts us at a disadvantage with the Meanstreets. Having Coleman prevented Underwood from getting any Streets players and they have some of the best Chicago players right now. Get Anderson to help with the Streets and make Irvin the AtHC. Best of both worlds.

Its Tim Anderson as the AC3. Did you see the video of him sitting in front row near the Illini staff. They were watching Jaydon Schutte. Im telling you its gonna be Tim Anderson and im perfectly fine with that!!!
Care to share this video?

You've nailed it. If it's Randle, and if it hasn't been announced, it's because all involved don't want to announce it.

But it's Anderson, and announcing him FUBARs some recruiting stuff.

Tim Anderson? I thought they were talking about the player on the Sox?! Brian Randle? I thought he lived on a farm in Effingham. I never knew he was even working for the Suns. Only Chicago kids have heard of Irvin. Not gonna help in Florida/Texas or Alabama. At least Maryland (Manning) Indiana (Woodson) Michigan (Howard) have hired people kids have heard of. We have had "Chicago coaches" for years but we still lose Chicago Kids. I'm hoping for a WOW hire!

TIFWIW. Anderson has some contractual obligation with DePaul and if he is announced too soo he has to pay a bunch of $$$ back to them. Anderson and Nick Irvin will be the next two coaches. If ALexander has the ties with Meanstreats and Irvin with the FIre, we will own Chicago. Sounds like Chester has many connections out east. I am really liking this staff.

Wasn't Tim Anderson part of the DePaul NCAA probation back in 2019? There has been speculation that he had some recruiting limitations placed on him back then snd that if he left, his new employer had to petition the NCAA to get those restrictions lifted. Just maybe those restrictions have not been lifted and he is better off not being employed and still "recruiting". Once he is officially named, some limitations occur. Make any sense??

Probably not this late in the AC3 process.

You are pretty far off base here. Your comparisons are not apples to apples.

That's some grey area 3D chess.

Makes sense, but all of this past indescretions has me worried. The NCAA seems to hate us.

I would think training a bunch of NBA picks over the years at his camp in Chicago would be enough for the handlers of kids coming up to know who TA is. Who do you want them to hire that is a household name but also wants to be an AC.?
