The most respected coach in college football?(by other coaches)
Seems like a great negotiating position for RW. We’ll pay him, but Alabama would elevate his exposure. Bama would give him eyes from coast to coast. Here at ILL, the relationships matter but there, exposure matters. Personally, I think BB is a very smart dude and actively elevates RW. BB wants you to be a sponge, learn and take the reins. Saban expects execution. At Alabama, you lose a tight SEC game and the gig is up.

Btw this gif was about Alabama not Colorado.
I didn’t realize the talks were that active. That makes me a bit more nervous that our coaching carousel season will be active (when I’d hope it would be quiet)

They have poked around on Walters. They haven’t gotten rid of Golding yet. Nor isn’t even a sure thing that they will. Also George McDonald and WMU have interest. Don’t know how high up the candidate lost he is for them though.

I'm confused, you responded to folks right after that initial message talking about how top coordinators never turn down P5 head coach opportunities.

Has a coordinator that’s never been a HC ever turned down their first opportunity to be a head coach? Especially at a P5 school?

I'm surprised Jeff Traylor isn't getting more interest. Arizona State should have been involved this offseason. If Houston fires Holgorsen next year, I would be all over Traylor.

Not sure if this has been posted but I guess S.Florida is sniffing around Tom Allen (per Tampa Bay Times). I guess his buyout dropped to 4mil on Thursday. The school would owe him 20mil if he was fired (seems unlikely since he hired the Wisc OLine coach today).
Hope he stays.....We can always post those childish Rah Rah, up n down the sidelines like a third grader moves.

I’m literally shocked. Leonhard staying at Wisconsin
Really hope there is fire to the Deion smoke so we get another year or two of Walters. Would Deion offer DC job to Walters and would Walters even entertain that idea?

interesting question, love to hear what others think. i'm hoping in that scenario, BBs experience, pedigree and mentoring wins out

Just look at the Saban coaching tree and some of the coaching gigs Bama coordinators have gotten. I hate to say it but it's kind of a no-brainer if RW wants to maximize his chance at getting not only a HC gig but a good HC gig.

The Colorado DC job is not at the same level as the IL DC job. Not a lateral move at this point, a def step back.

I doubt he’s on their list but Cincinnati should be considering Walters for their HC opening.
