Add Marcus Freeman to this list …

Washington will attempt to make a big splash hire … They’re coming to the Big Ten … They do not want to lose momentum … Be shocked if it’s not a current HC … I expect Grubb to go with DeBoer to Bama …

Known Jamarcus a long time … Be shocked if he doesn’t wind up at Bama … That dude is connected, great developer, and has one of the best eyes for talent in the game …

But you still wake up every day and you live in Alabama
Yesterday I asked my wife if she'd live in bama if they paid her $10 million for a year, then I asked her if she'd live there if they $10 million a year for 5 years. She said probably to the first proposal and no to the second proposal, she said no way she'd live there for 5 years. We both had a good laugh.

Having lived in the southeast for 20+ years now, I must say the southern living is great. Nice weather, nice people, nice scenery.
Agree. I’d live in Alabama way before thinking of living in the northwest Oregon/Washington. Some nice areas to visit up there, but that’s about it for me.

Lived in Alabama from 2012-2023, enjoyed it and a great state tbh.

Not really related to any current news, but I am stuck at work with nothing to do today and decided to check in on my Salukis' coaching staff. I knew Terry Hawthorne was coaching DBs, but I had no idea that Zach Grant is the WR coach/recruiting coordinator, and Antonio James is the DC. That's a lot of Illini connections! I'd love to see that continue.

This is true, but there are some parts of the Southeast I'd rather live in than others.

Atlanta, B-ham, NOLA, sure. Valdosta, Mobile, or Biloxi? Eh.

Ew...ew...and ew. If you need the big city...you need to be at least an hour out of Atlanta!

The correct answers are Wilmington N.C, Savannah, GA, if you want coast....Ashville, NC, and Knoxville, TN if you want the "mountains".

Wilmington is the gem here. No tourons like Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and the Floribama coast.

We lived in Atlanta for a year. I enjoyed it. Savannah is too humid year round for me, and forget Knoxville. It's not my cup of tea

Yeah....you have to be literally on the coast with the shore breeze in Savannah or Charleston. Knoxville not mine either...but college towns are fun plus the river.

Nothing beats living in The Villages Florida. Check it out…
I’ve lived coast to coast and in Europe. Much time in the Midwest.
Second time in Florida and it’s the best!

DeBoer was Indianas OC 4 years ago … And they had Penix …

That’s just so insane to even comprehend …
From the stellar Tom Allen coaching tree?

Spot on. Give me a house on Holden Beach and have Wilmington as the nearby 'big city'. All I need.

Considering the guy grew up in rural South Dakota I'm sure he'd prefer Alabama over Seattle.
Speaking from experience, either of those are significant upgrades over rural S.D.

And aside from the likes of Panama City, the Gulf region has its charms.

Says a guy who has probably never been within 500 miles of Alabama.

Absolutely right about Wilmington! Spent last weekend there - so many beautiful old homes, beaches, and took a quick tour of the USS North Carolina. Friend told me that the Civil War/Sherman's march to the sea bypassed the city.

I traveled this country on business for 30 years and had the pleasure of visiting 49 states over that period, including Alabama. Only state I haven't been to is West Virginia.

I traveled for two different careers, one took me to very rural areas of the country and the other took me mostly to large urban areas. Places like Paris TX, Hibbing MN, Roanke, VA, Bar Harbor ME, Lincoln CA, Las Vegas NM to name a few of the smaller communities. Also, traveled a bit of Canada as well. Oh, and I did spend 6 months at Chanute AFB just outside of Champaign Urbana.

I heard Josh is working a back door deal with Miles Smith
To think that the equivalent of this happened just a few years ago:
"Brett Bielema announces that in addition to his role as Head Coach, he will now also be the Defensive Coordinator. Coach Bielema also announces the addition of his daughter, Briella Bielema, as Linebackers Coach."
