We’ll be 5-1 heading into the scUM game. Mark it down.
Care to make it interesting?

But seriously, I'm seeing more realism than negativity on this board. 6-6 with our schedule next season would be a significant achievement. Of course anything is possible in the world of college sports - our new group of OL and DL could surprise to the upside and provide the trench play required to overachieve on the field But a realist knows that it's very improbable that we're 5-1 heading in the scUM game. If we are, I will sit and eat a large plate of fried crow and celebrate with you. But I'm not going to be all bent out of shape if we're 4-2 or 3-3 going into that game. In fact, I'd be extremely happy with 4-2.

3-3 would kind of suck. We need to beat one of Nebraska or Purdue

The Packers have reportedly hired Jeff Hafley from Boston College to be their new DC.
I'm guessing that means Jim Leonhard is no longer in the market.

Also a potentially interesting move for the profession as a whole with a Power 5 head coach leaving to be an NFL coordinator.

He gave a pretty interesting reason why regarding the college landscape
I didn’t even read the reason why, but I’d bet $ that It’s NIL, the transfer portal, and the absolute uncertainty of NCAA jurisdiction and how anything will be regulated in college athletics. The Tennessee AG suing the NCAA today is a big deal, with Virginia AG joining the suit. In addition, BC is already a tough job, and the ACC is getting left behind. Hatley probably has big ambitions and he realizes the college landscape is in disarray.

unless you are coaching in B1G or SEC, the future is very cloudy

From ESPN's article. It rings 100% true

"He wants to go coach football again in a league that is all about football," a source told ESPN. "College coaching has become fundraising, NIL and recruiting your own team and transfers. There's no time to coach football anymore.

"A lot of things that he went back to college for have disappeared."

Interesting that the Tennesee suit is over QB Iamaleava. I think when it comes to NIL, no athlete is safe and all will say Iamaleave when a better offer comes along.

I think the UNC response to decades of NCAA violations has changed the college sports landscape almost as much as the NIL monies. UNC basically defanged the NCAA, and now there is really no one or no institution in charge of college athletics. You get a major violation, you follow the Tar Heel guidebook and tell the NCAA we'll see you in court.
