Looks like Eric Wolford and Tommy Rees will be looking for new jobs since neither was retained by DeBoer.

FootballScoop listed the support staff under Saban and there were over 40.

Insiders, with changes, do we expect any interest in any of our coaches? Couldn’t see Henry sticking out after this year. I’m not seeing it with others either.

While that’s good for continuity, I’m not sure what it says about quality.

Does anybody else find it weird that we fired the two assistants with no replacements lined up? I understand Fenelus and the insiders have suggested the LSU guy. But what about a Buh replacement? That firing is just crazy to me given his recruiting ties.

We don’t have replacements lined up? Remember just because the general public doesn’t know what’s going on doesn’t mean stuff isn’t happening.

What I saw is that in order to get the one, need another opening to bring in another. In other words, if you want me, I need an another opening for an associate.

That’s just speculation
In my opinion, the lack of movement is due to the recent job openings and job acceptances. A lot more potential candidates to choose from the coaching pool. Assuming Bret’s phone is ringing more and more, and vice versa.

Yeah don’t get me wrong, I’m sure Bret had guys he was talking to for both spots. It’s just been quiet and no names have been thrown out for Buh’s spot. I have no problem with Fenelus gone and it seems like an easier spot to fill. Buh seemed to be a strong recruiter so not sure why he was let go without being able to announce a replacement quickly.

I don’t see someone trying to hire Henry away after 1 year as DC and it not being super successful. I haven’t heard anything about any of our other coaches being considered for other jobs either.

Basically my question is if you or other insiders are aware of other teams looking at any of our coaches currently?

Some here are so anxious to know they start drawing bad conclusions. I’m sure stuff is happening. In Bert I Trust.
Gotta remember we also have to post the position and have it be open for a certain amount of time if I remember correctly. I think it would also be a bit crazy for any coach to not wait and see all their options with this much churn in CFB and NFL ranks. Some people we are in on might be still coaching in the NFL or are still negotiating their buy out with previous employer or their contract with UofI. It's a relatively light recruiting time and non-contact with players. So no rush.

Does anyone know other teams that are interviewing/interested in Leonhard? I find it wild he doesn’t have another big time job yet unless he’s setting his sights too high? Would love to have him back

We seem to go through this discussion with every opening at every level with a call for an immediate naming of a replacement. Remember that as soon as a new coach is named he/she is limited in contact with recruits. So long as the job hasn't been accepted that new coach can line up recruits to come along. I have no inside information to say that is happening but it is at least one reason, among many, that a new coach could be preparing to come but not yet announced. There are many scenarios that do not involve an immediate naming of a new coach. Trust Bret to have people lined up. He knows everybody and also knows how to play this coach game.

0440 has stated, more than once, that it's not a matter of whether other teams are interested in  Leonhard but whether he is interested them. Sounds like he knows what fits both his personal and professional goals at this time.

Arizona has hired San Jose State head coach Brent Brennan to replace Jedd Fisch, who went to Washington.

DeBoer has hired two sitting FBS head coaches as part of his staff at Bama. South Alabama head coach Kane Wommack will be the DC. Buffalo head coach Maurice Linguist as been hired as co-DC and DB coach.
