Should be HC and DC openings after today. I don't care how many people are out, or who quit this morning, 400 yards rushing...maybe they gonna run it on 1st and 2nd down, probably even 3rd and 4th.

He just sits over there calm as can be calculating how much he is getting paid to get hammered every week.
Impressed that you can see inside Lovie’s thoughts. That’s a real talent.

The moment before halftime when he was yelling at the ref about the timeout is the most animated I’ve seen him on the sideline all year long. I really think he’s checked out.

Jim Leonhard gets my vote; Badgers are #2 in scoring D, #1 in yards allowed. Their offense is terrible this year so they are really doing the heavy lifting

Would be supportive of this hire as well. Hopefully he would be interested.

There may not be any rumblings of a coaching change, but remember that nobody had a clue that Underwood was even a candidate for the bball job until the day he was hired. If JW does decide to bring back Lovie, I believe it will be for financial reasons more than football reasons, as unfortunate as that would be.

My coaching candidate list:

(1) Leipold
(2) Napier
(3) Leonhard
(4) Chuck Martin

Open to others, but that's my list for now.

No because he has not succeeded at Texas A&M and Arizona.

Both are easier to recruit to than ILL and both have better recent history than ILL.

How about poaching Dave Clausen at Wake Forest? Steady progress over 6 years

32-46 at miami ohio chuck martin?

Martin is an interesting discussion as well. Hasn't had the trajectory of success like Leipold or Lewis, he's MAC coach #86 to be talked about, and there's nothing particularly distinguishing that stands out about him.

But....worth noting he coached at ND on *both* sides of the ball, was recruiting coordinator at ND for 2 years, and won two national championships at Grand Valley. Chicago area native, played LB at Milliken, and he's got a great sense of humor to boot.

For better context on his success as a coach, Miami was 4-12 in conference his first two years, and now 24-11 his last 5 years, including 2-1 this year. He may be very happy at Miami, I don't know. Wonder what his interest would be in a Big 10 job.

Interesting that Chuck Martin and Jeff Monken would have been teammates at Milliken - a year apart in age.

Chuck Martin didn’t win an FBS OOC game for like 5 years at Miami. I’d take another year with Lovie than roll the dice on him.
