Lendeborg to McCoy is a shooting downgrade.

Morez to Estrella is a shooting upgrade.

Mara to Thiam is a shooting upgrade.
All technically true, but “upgrade” doesn’t really mean much in this context. Thiam is a career sub-30% three-point shooter and Estrella attempted just 10 threes last year

Yes, but it does show that if it wasn't a problem last year, then it probably won't be a problem this year either.

They arent "worse" in that department.

Mara to Thiam is a shooting upgrade.

Morez dwarfed Estrella's FT% (78 for Morez, 63 for Estrella) and was a far more willing shooter putting up 35 threes in 40 games to Estrella 10 threes in 33 games.

Mara and Thiam both bad FT% wise (63 for Thiam, 56 for Mara), Thiam shot more threes but is under 30% in each season he's played. Unsure there's a big difference here other than neither is a good outside shooter, but Thiam is just more willing to throw up the misses than Mara was.

Estrella is definitely a worse shooter than Morez.

Morez shot 34% from 3 on 35 attempts (that's nearly 1 attempt per game).

Estrella shot just 10 threes the entire season. Most of the time he's a non shooter (but yes, did shoot 40% extremely low volume though).

Oh no.

I hate this stuff man.

Really hope it’s not as bad as that looks. I can’t totally tell from the clip but kinda looks like he slips and does the splits? (Reminds me of Ayo against MSU) Hope the knee wasn’t caught up in it and it was more a scary painful fall than a true non contact.

I know the young fella dealt with a lower leg injury in high school too - but not sure the severity of that or location of it

Just a nightmare of a euro trip for Michigan

Not sure where to put this...

Michigan freshman McCoy's injury mars exhibition win in Croatia

"McCoy, a 6-foot-4 guard whom ESPN recently projected as the 23rd pick in the 2027 draft, slipped early in Michigan's win over Megabasket, a professional team in Serbia. He fell to the floor and grabbed his knees as the training staff treated him.

"When McCoy was helped off the court, it appeared that he could not put any weight on his right knee."

That frontcourt that they had last year made A LOT of things, that would have been a problem for 99.9% of the country, not a problem for them.
They were 156th in offensive turnover rate. (For context, Illinois with Kasparas was 96th)

3pt percentage wasn't exactly an issue; they were 32nd. But, they did have two non-shooting big men on the floor most of the game (we saw how much that hurt Mike Woodson).

They weren't completely flawless. But their strengths were unmatched most of the time.

Their paint defense was incredible. Their defense was:

-- 3rd nationally in BLK%
-- 2nd nationally 2pt percentage allowed
-- They did all that without fouling; 14th nationally in FT rate allowed.

This plus Morez & Lendenborg being able to guard on the perimeter made them special

Makes our Braggin’ Rights game harder. Would have preferred he’d gone to UK.

Hopefully the NCAA (and SEC is involved as well) will be granted a stay in this. There is precedent danger with the NCAA getting player victories overturned in the Tennessee/Ohio/other states I'm forgetting.

The California case certainly does not mean immunity. The TRO granted in California, just like the ones in Ohio, Tenn, Georgia, is a temporary relief order and subject to NCAA appeals. There's also precedent danger with the NCAA already successfully securing higher court stays to overturn these other athlete wins.

The Ohio/Tenn/Colorado/Georgia cases do not help his chances, they hurt it immensely.
There is also the protect college sports act which is supposedly getting a senate vote in a few weeks.

Haven't really looked into it or what it would do but it's being pushed by the NCAA so I would imagine it would allow them to enforce the rules they put in place.

I expect more interest in the Senate for a bill now that college football is being impacted by the chaos since football is the driving moneymaker.
