Honestly... this is no different than the TSJ situation. A judge ruled that TSJ's earning potential could be hampered so an injunction was issued allowing him to play. Same thing happened here. Like it or not, we benefitted from the exact same type of ruling -- guilt or innocence to be deterimined later.
Love to dust off IANAL… Legally same thing but in terms of the details - there have been numerous players across sport facing criminal charges being allowed to continue to play. When, in recent memory, has a player knowingly been betting on their own games and is allowed to continue to participate? I hate to throw out the “integrity” term but there’s essentially no way you can ever guarantee integrity of competition if this line is crossed, which it now has been.
My understanding with the TRO is that as long as the case is in court unresolved the NCAA cannot ban/suspend him beyond the 2 games. This isn’t going to move fast enough through the courts and he’ll end up playing all but the 2 games he is suspended for.
So in other words, I have a better chance of dating a supermodel than of this being overturned.
