I know some were hoping to get QB Drew Mestemaker in the portal. He went to Okie State, not sure Illinois even made a push for him.

OSU lost to Tulsa 24-10

Stats: 29/49 - 1TD and 2 INT's & 241 yards. His 1TD and OSU's only TD of the game was a pass to some guy named Justin Bowick.

Mestermaker followed his NTSU coach to OkSt & they paid up for him. We never had a chance really .

Gundy left the cupboard bare . like Dabo, he was old school & didnt embrace the changes . it’s gonna be a couple years for the program to rebound

ESPN is stacking the deck like crazy to gin up public support for this bill.
What is in it that makes things better for the SEC? Cause you know thats the only reason ESPN is promoting it. Never has a show become more unwatchable than Gameday with their unabashed erection for all things SEC ALL THE TIME. It's so nauseating. Not to mention Macafee is the perpetual 15 year old toolbag.

I know Fox's show has Portnoy on it but he at least occasionally has moments of intelligence. And the rest of their crew is more even handed in the way they cover stuff.

If ESPN didn't have the live game coverage I'd seriously not care if it was available on my tv package.

All the "elites" so to speak in college sports want the bill to pass, so it's no surprise ESPN is echoing that, it's not really an SEC vs Big Ten thing.

Just as unsatisfactory and more-questions-than-answers as everything else that has emerged with this, frankly.

If you asked me two weeks ago I would have said this isn't gonna pass, but it sure looks like I was wrong.

(Relatedly, the NCAA hiring Charlie Baker is a first ballot entry into the Lobbying Hall of Fame)

I guess my fundamental complaint about the bill is that it etches into stone in enforceable law a status quo that everyone (very much including me) seems to hate.

My price for gifting the NCAA an antitrust exemption would be a lot higher, personally.

After a $76,000,000 buyout from A&M, I guess he needs the money?
The reason(s) you left a relationship always remains—can’t see this working out well. I only wish it were scUM considering such a move.
Just as it's unlikely that a program will unearth a second Curt Cignetti, it's a longshot that Jimbo Fisher is another Bill Snyder.
