Cubs Prospect Rising Fast Through System
The Chicago Cubs have a high-rising prospect on their hands in first baseman Hayden McGeary.The new Top 30 prospect was drafted in the 15th round last year out of Division II Colorado Mesa. But, to MLB.com, no Cubs draft pick from 2022 has given the Cubs a higher rate of return in just one year than McGeary.
He’s risen fast through the Cubs’ organization. He’s with Double-A Tennessee, but that is his fourth team in the system since he joined the Cubs’ Arizona Complex League rookie team after being drafted.
He started the season with High Class-A South Bend before his promotion to the Smokies. For this minor-league season he’s slashed 314/.422/.510/.932 with nine home runs and 39 RBI in 56 games.

at this point it’s hard to see them much above .500 and therefore they are likely a 2nd or 3rd place finisher .
pretty good for small stretches of time but average at best over any 2-3 week time frame .
