Replying to myself. After checking, all of the teams ahead of us in the wildcard race lost Friday. Who would have thunk it?Did all the wildcard competitors also lose?
No. I visit weekly. Is it wrong to look at the Cardinals thread for the first time ever in order to read and enjoy their thoughts about next year, acknowledging this year is over?
I actually try to contribute periodically and not in a mean way, sometimes even complimentary, but over half the time it gets deleted. I think if you start off and say "I'm a Cubs fan" someone deletes it.Is it wrong to look at the Cardinals thread for the first time ever in order to read and enjoy their thoughts about next year, acknowledging this year is over?

I've learned to value my time more than to spend it there ;-)Is it wrong to look at the Cardinals thread for the first time ever in order to read and enjoy their thoughts about next year, acknowledging this year is over?

time to go 12-6 or better , before Sept 1 thenNow in the last wild card slot and a game and a half out of the division.
15 of the next 18 are against teams with losing records.
Hope we can keep our edge. It wouldn’t be unlike the Cubs to struggle against the “lesser” teams here. Now in the last wild card slot and a game and a half out of the division.

The good news is that we dominated bottom feeder teams like the Nationals, Cardinals and White Sox since the All-Star break to get back into the playoff hunt to begin with. Man does it feel good to correctly refer to the Cardinals and as Sox bottom feeders!Hope we can keep our edge. It wouldn’t be unlike the Cubs to struggle against the “lesser” teams here.

Yeah playing against teams like the Mets who suddenly have no pressure seems a little scary.Hope we can keep our edge. It wouldn’t be unlike the Cubs to struggle against the “lesser” teams here.
They beat up on the Mets and Twins.Of course we get the Royals, who have the 2d worst record in baseball, only better than the As, at a time when they are 7-3 over their last 10 games.
My AL team will not take this slander. ;-)They beat up on the Mets and Twins.
