Trying to drink hopium here; it sucks it happened and he won't be participating in practice, but whatever it ends up being, I'm glad it happened now and not in October.

in all seriousness, this really sucks. highest rated preseason team in a long time, coming off a final four, and we lose our preseason AA best player for a significant part of the season due to an injury suffered in an offseason workout

this is about the most Illinois basketball thing I’ve ever felt. Finally this is our year!! And boom best player gone for most of the season. When we finally win a championship in 2055 it’s gonna be a great story of all the heartache we’ve endured over the years.
I know this board will be all doom and gloom but someone said rather it happen now than when the season started. Getting back into game shape will be key but he already has an on court chemistry with everyone but 2-3 people expected to be in the rotation by that time. The graphic released makes it seem like he's on his deathbed so I'll take 4-5 months I guess. This team is extremely talented to the point and we should still have a number next to our team name by the time he gets back. Will it be single digits? Who knows
