Talked to a couple people, sorry for the delay.

Obviously not great news, surgery is never good.

The feeling as of now is that he has a pretty decent chance to be back by late October depending on how it reacts. I think worse case is mid to late November.

Don’t think he will miss many games if any, but not great to not have him for practice.

In terms of the freshman getting more responsibility I think it could bode well.
DB had me drinking jack crying. Lville has me drinking jack to celebrate. I’m in a glass house of emotions!!!!

This is a HUGE difference than what Headband is saying. He's saying that they don't think he'll be back for the 2026 portion of the schedule.

Surgery is not good. That doesn't scream only 2 months.

I think there’s a chance he could miss a couple non conference games, but knowing Mirk he will do everything in his power to not have that be the case.

Mid November return I think would be the conservative prediction in terms of an actual game but I would bet he plays game #1.

Not knowing exactly what was broke and the extent of the surgery.....this sounds like good news....thanks L-1....you've saved lives today.../s
Who's right? DB or Lville?

One is good news and one is less than ideal.

Massive difference between not missing a game, just practices, and not playing in 2026 when we have an extremely challenging non-conference schedule.

If he's just missing practices, this is where the amount of returnees are a huge benefit.

Last I recall, Mirk threatened to kill himself if he missed a game.

I also factor in that with modern medicine and procedures along with his age the recovery time won't be as long. Young bones heal faster🙏

I would love to hear DB's response to this. Man, I sure hope that you're right.

Thank you for sharing this, and hopefully tempering the theatrics a bit!

With the surgery he had, if it's possible to be back game 1 (or at least by TTU/Duke in mid-November), then I would bet he's back by game 1.

Remember the David Mirkovic we're talking about here, folks.

Alright Lvillve says November, DB says 2027. Your tables ready Indy
I remember last year when we were expecting Ty back by mid January.

Until we hear exactly what the injury is, it's a guess. If it's a ligament, that's a massive problem for the entire season.

If it's a broken foot requiring a plate/screw....then Ville is right with 8-10 weeks, which is November ish.

Without knowing the injury, hard to say.

But this is a guy this program has not been shy hyping up as a nba guy this year.

Foot injuries with big men are scary. Obviously would love him back soon, and I’m sure he’ll do everything he can, but that maters to me in not rushing him back - which I’m sure they won’t, just makes me a bit more pessimistic on timeline
