I’m not sure if it is a plus or minus having masks and not being able to see Fran’s whiny face. Normally a plus, but with Minny winning wouldn’t mind seeing McWhiny’s face.

I don't even remember this Brandon Johnson fellow from when Illinois played Minnesota. He went 1-8 on that game.

He went 8-9 from 3 in this game. Insane numbers. Also insane how Iowa wasn't absolutely glued to him on defense in OT. He made at least 3 in that period and they weren't really contested very heavily.

He went to Bowman Academy in Gary, Indiana. Looks like Western Mi was his only offer.

Wasn’t Collins comparing his team last year to the 2018-19 Illini? Thought he had significant upside for this year much as the Illinois improvement. Ranking people gave them same respect as Ill got.

You can go a long way with that much offense, but I agree they're fatally flawed. A FF wouldn't shock me, but I don't like their chances --there are some good defensive teams that I think can take away their advantages.

Off the top of my head, I can't recall the last time a team made it to the championship game with a defense as suspect as Iowas.

No kidding... highlight threads include “done with this team,” “nationally embarrassed,” and my personal favorite “me and 4 of my beer drinking buddies could sink 15 threes on this team.”

I think this is an interesting point. Given that Minny was in Bonus+, if Iowa had fouled, they would have shot two free throws. I suppose they could have tried the ole' make the first and intentionally miss the second trick but that rarely works. Would have taken some guts from Fran to call for the foul but it might have saved them. IIRC Iowa was out of time outs so maybe they didn't have the time to call for a foul instead of letting Minny tie the game with a 3.
