Listen- Bielema is the man- he's completely turned our program around. But man- the mental mistakes, penalties, poor game management, horrific tackling- it's pretty concerning. We have too much talent on defense to be this bad.

Injury timeouts wasted, running the ball with no timeouts, lack of proper tackling technique, not using the TEs, and just the lack of any beef in the trenches on both sides of the ball, yadda yadda..... I like Trimble and Dougherty, but seems like we just don't use them. The defense is scary bad!! Not surprised by the outcome today to be honest. We knew this was coming based on last weeks showing. A 6 win season will be a good year based on what we have witnessed so far.
Trimble was the primary target and was open on the 4th and short when Houser chose to force it to a double covered Dixon the endzone.

Brutal game. Shot ourselves in the foot too many times. Seems that all of our concerns about the DL and LB talent were very warranted. Just not sure we have any B10 caliber players there at this point in their development. Looking like the least combined talent we’ve had in those groups in quite some time- maybe late Turner era?

I don’t know, maybe it’ll start coming together in a few weeks but seems like we’re going to need 35+ pts a week and that’s a very tough ask. Hauser has been extremely good so far, and no slight on him whatsoever, but we’re going to need him to also be Late Game Luke in addition to his phenomenal self if we need that type of offensive output, and that is such a tough act to follow.

Difficult to not feel worse about our prospects this season after this game

Someone help me understand, you don’t have good d linemen, so you run a defense that only has three men on line of scrimmage? A fourth wouldn’t help?

Just shows we are at a level below what it takes to make the playoffs despite our overall success the last few years.

When you make the horrible decision to spend your NIL money on retaining players instead of going out and getting quality players, this is the result you get. We are doomed and everyone knows it at this point. We will be lucky to go 4-8 this year. I really thought those days were behind us.
Retention is probably always going to be more efficient use of money.

The problem is we don’t have enough money.
