Nah....just CAPPED out.

This is nonsense. Does this guy think we are visually impaired? Tackling sucks.
All I said was that I won’t trust a defense that rushes three3-3-5 does not mean "rushes only 3." It means 3 down lineman.
How many guys blitz on 3rd down, is entirely up to the coordinator's hope for the given play.
Yep and I thought it before they ran the first play. You knew what was coming....so did Duke.
Possibly. But instead of constantly whining about NIL's disadvantages, he needs to do what BU did & adapt. He's portraying a loser's mentality, which is weird to me b/c he's not been that way his whole tenure. I can understand lobbying for change, and I'm good with that. But other programs are figuring it out. As of right now, there aren't other options. Both statements are true. At first NIL did level the field. Then it exploded to create the have’s and the have not’s, tilting the field to the greatest extend we’ve seen (yet).
Stay tuned. It could get worse before it gets better. Some sort of effective salary cap would truly level things.
I’m going to start calling him “Baghdad Bobby”. No one could objectively watch the game video and make those statements.
Oh, sure, I think there's always been a good alignment and understanding between the two of them.I have no insider information but my priors assumed that Bielema was influencing the offensive pace late in the game because of how he wanted the end-game to play out (Werner seemed to either also have the same thought or got insider information confirming that).
With all of the patriotic helmet stickers we have done in the past, you would think looking at that picture would be the first sign to never use them again (along with an 0-1 record using it). You cannot even tell what it says.
A salary cap won't solve the issue. Some teams will just ignore it - much like they ignored the earlier rules prohibiting payment to players. Both statements are true. Correct. But remember Lou Tepper would’ve never let this happen.I do get this more than most people…. but I wonder why the runs had to come at that exact moment. You could’ve prioritized picking up the 1st down, and then run the ball the next series, to dictate end of game.
….
End of game absolutely matters. I’d be extremely pissed if one of our games played out like this:

The OSU defenders work so hard to effectively kill their chances at a victory. If they had let him go, I fully believe they would’ve won this game, with 1 timeout and 1:30 on the clock.
Perhaps we will eventually see a loss like this. It’d just drive me nuts.
So, end of game absolutely matters IMO. We’ve actually been really good at it — the Duke game was just a matter of managing end of game AND getting the first down (and yes, the first down is the most important factor).
Generally speaking it makes sense to keep the ball out of the other team’s hands. But the defense got stops on the 4th quarter. Offense had three chances to take the lead and couldn’t get it done.Reality is Bielema was probably right. He needed the offense to chew up almost all of the clock. Worse yet is that Illinois started that possession with 6:06 on the clock, Duke had all three time-outs, plus the two-minute warning, and Illinois needed a TD (not a FG). The offense had to do a million things right on that final possession beyond score a TD. The run game had not been that effective all game, which made their task all the more challenging.
Exactly right. It would be just like before NIL with certain teams paying paying players.A salary cap won't solve the issue. Some teams will just ignore it - much like they ignored the earlier rules prohibiting payment to players.
The big ten is undoubtedly down THIS year.Nick Saban: “We’ve (SEC) already got nine teams in the top-25. It’s not like the Big Ten, where there’s three good teams at the top and then nothing.”
That’s the rep that the Big Ten generally has these days. And it’s not inaccurate until and unless another Big Ten steps up its game and raises its profile. And that includes the team in Orange and Blue.
Yet somehow it works in pro sports. Why not try what’s proven effective? Or am I missing something? Does it not work in pro leagues?A salary cap won't solve the issue. Some teams will just ignore it - much like they ignored the earlier rules prohibiting payment to players.
If the NCAA had a track record of fairly handing out penalties to programs who cheated, I'd be all for it. Pro teams that cheat get generally hit pretty hard.Yet somehow it works in pro sports. Why not try what’s proven effective? Or am I missing something? Does it not work in pro leagues?
Is our d coordinator delusional? Our tackling was better? I saw one good hit and tackle by Bailey. That was it.But darn-it we lost.
Then it could be done if the legal constraints were removed and if the NCAA recognized the threat. But I’m skeptical that they sense the looming crisis arising from a heavily tilted playing field and volatile rosters. They just see dollar signs. If the NCAA had a track record of fairly handing out penalties to programs who cheated, I'd be all for it. Pro teams that cheat get generally hit pretty hard.
