If this whole soccer thing doesn't work out, Harry Kane might have a job as a pro wrestler with the sell job on that hit by Doucoure yesterday.

And that straight red should have been given to Doucoure either way.

Just in case anyone on here hasn't seen the play I'm talking about:

very obvious red card and Doucoure needs to be better, but good lord Kane, you are a legend in the game and that is embarrassing to say the least. He was going off regardless of the theatrics. I love how Kane finishes and actually his all around game is solid also but come on man. Stand up for yourself.

here is what the best striker in premier league history looked like after somebody took a swing at him:

Burnley returning to the Premier League after today's 1:2 victory at Middlesbrough. Clarets had such a large points lead in the Championship that sports books in the UK had already started paying out Premier League promotion bets for Burnley within the last couple weeks. Burnley has been managed this season by former Man City player Vincent Kompany.

the real question is who are they replacing. Man the relegation battle is robust this year.

Spurs sacked the interim manager they hired to replace Conte. Spurs lost 6:1 to Newcastle over the weekend though it looks worse when you consider they were down 5:0 roughly 20 minutes into the match.

He was Conte's main assistant. The promotion made no sense, except that he had filled in for a handful of games after Conte had surgery earlier this year. Mason should have originally been named "caretaker" manager similar to Lampard at Chelsea. It took a few games, but they are there now.

Leeds United has sacked Javi Garcia with 4 matches left in the season after Garcia was brought in just over 2 months ago to replace Jesse Marsch. Big Sam brought in as Garcia's replacement.

While the score lines may not end up being exactly like this, there's still goal difference which could be key if Chelsea and Leicester City end up tied for 18th in the table. Chelsea still have a chance to finish with their worst final placing in the Premier League since they finished 14th in the 1993-94 campaign.

Southampton officially relegated following today's 0:2 loss to Fulham. Ends an 11 season run in the top flight for the Saints. Highest finish in the table during this current run was 6th back in the 2015-16 season. Have flirted with relegation in recent years but had managed to stay up until this season.

With Arsenal's 0:3 loss at home today to Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester City can clinch the Premier League next weekend. Manchester City can clinch the Premier League title next weekend if:

-Arsenal lose at Nottingham Forest OR
-Arsenal draw at Nottingham Forest AND Manchester City draw/win vs. Chelsea OR
-Manchester City win vs. Chelsea

Couple of Premier League related notes from today:

-Brentford's Ivan Toney suspended from all football activities for 8 months by the English FA for breaches of the FA's betting rules. He can return to training with his club at the halfway point of the suspension (September 17) but can not play in another match until January 17, 2024.
-Liverpool confirmed today that Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will leave the club when their contracts expire this summer. The club has announced there will be a special tribute to the 4 before their home finale vs. Aston Villa on Saturday.

EFL promotion playoff final is set after Thursday's games. Luton Town defeated Sunderland 2:0 to advance on aggregate 3:2. Coventry City defeated Middlesbrough 1:0 and advanced on aggregate by that same score. The final will be played May 27 at Wembley. Luton Town has not played in the top flight of English football since 1992 and would be playing in the smallest stadium in the Premier League if they won. Coventry City has not played in the Premier League since 2001.
