In a sign of how things can change from season to season, Forest had 24 points at this point last season and were just outside the relegation zone. With today's win over Manchester City, they have 51 points and are currently in a Champions League spot.

Summer Series returning to the states and my guys from Everton will be taking part:

The matches will be taking place at MetLife Stadium, Soldier Field, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Tickets for each matchday will get you the chance to see all 4 clubs (Bournemouth, Manchester United, and West Ham are also part of this) at each venue.

Would like to see Everton play in Chicago but it looks like it will be a mid-week match.

lol, touché. well, the usual suspects have an extremely close race going, for what it's worth.
You take what you can get. Right now, La Liga and Serie A are the only two "big leagues" in Europe with reasonably compelling title races. If it means Athletico, Real, and Barca are the three in the La Liga race, I guess I'll have to accept it. :)

Newcastle defeated Liverpool today 2:1 to win the League Cup. First major domestic trophy for Newcastle since they won the FA Cup in 1955.
Just a glorious display for my Maggies. Couldn't be prouder of these guys!

Now lets get that champions league spot and really move forward.

Southampton officially relegated back to the Championship following today's 3:1 loss at Spurs.

Earliest relegation for a side in Premier League history with Southampton having done it with 7 matches remaining in the season. Previous record was 6, done 4 separate times. Most recently by Sheffield United in the 2020/21 season.

Southampton have sacked manager Ivan Juric. Juric had taken over after previous manager Russell Martin was sacked back in December. Simon Rusk, who was the caretaker manager after Martin's sacking, has agreed to be the interim manager for the remainder of the season with midfielder Adam Lallana serving as his assistant.

Anyone who thinks the chatter about college basketball coaches is knee jerk should look at European soccer. You lose 3-4 in a row, you’re at risk of being fired.

Premier League is guaranteed to get a 5th spot in next year's Champions League as a result of Arsenal's win over Real Madrid based on the UEFA co-efficient ranking being used now. Premier League could potentially get 7 teams in the Champions League next year if Villa wins the Champions League this year (which seems less likely after today's result against PSG) and if either Spurs or Manchester United win Europa League.

Last two relegation spots could be officially decided by the end of this weekend.

If West Ham wins today vs. Southampton, then Leicester will be relegated. If West Ham wins today, Wolves win tomorrow at Manchester United, and Ipswich Town loses tomorrow vs. Arsenal, then Ipswich will be relegated.

...but West Ham fails to win...

Leicester City officially relegated back to the Championship following today's 0:1 loss to Liverpool.

Liverpool could clinch the Premier League title as soon as Wednesday if Arsenal lose to Crystal Palace. Otherwise, they would have a chance to clinch it next Sunday vs. Spurs. It would be the first time they've won the title in front of fans since the 1989/90 season (they won it during the Covid season of 2019/20).

Leicester officially relegated.

Ipswich holds onto the thinnest thread. they would have to win out while West Ham loses out and make up 20 goal differential. they will likely get relegated when they travel to Newcastle. an even thinner thread of hope would be Man City getting docked 40 points for FFP.
