Liverpool (Coutinho!) with TWO goals in one game? Outrageous!
EDIT: THREE GOALS in one game, one fourth of the ytd total! I can't even. And at Stamford Bridge.

Im not worried about my job in Chelsea -Mourinho

you probably should be Jose.

diego costa in another tangle, this time with skrtel. looks like he tried to kick out at skrtel too. really can't stand him. http://www.espnfc.com/video/premier...ideo/2690775/watch-costa-lashes-out-yet-again

That was absolutely nothing. Skrtel wasn't even mad about it. Unfortunately because it's Diego Costa, it winds up all over the Internet and NBCSN shows the replay 20 times. If it's any other player then nothing is made from it.

Actually, it was something. But if your point is that this on the lighter side for a Costa d-move, that does seem valid.

Spurs W yesterday takes them 5th in the table and just 2 points out of 3rd. They are unbeaten since the own goal in Week 1 at Manchester United. With Chelsea floundering, Spurs have a decent shot to finish Top 4 this year. I don't think Leicester City can continue their current form.

Big NLD this weekend. Should be a good one.

hopefully joel campbell can continue to step up big for arsenal on the right wing with theo, ox, and ramsey all out. big game tomorrow at allianz arena.

leicester city's apparent plan is just to score more than their opponents. their defense belies their position in the table. on the plus side, they've allowed fewer goals than chelsea :D

Way to show up today, Gunners...

With the way things are going in the European tournaments, the BPL could lose one of its Champions League spots. May soon be a fight for Top 3 instead o Top 4.

I don't see it happening this season with Man City already through, and Man United, Chelsea, and Arsenal all with a good chance to go through. But evidently, there could be a decent shift in coefficient points next season because the points from when Chelsea won the Champions League will no longer be counted. So if England keeps up it's recent performance in Europe then they would probably go down to 3 in 18/19.

Right, unlikely to happen this year. But quite likely unless something drastically changes next year.

North London derby should be good. If the Gunners haven't bounced back from their Bayern debacle, the Spurs should win.

Question about the Champions League: Do teams that get eliminated there go automatically to the Europa League? I saw that Celtic of the Scottish Premiership was playing in the Europa League but I know that since they won the SP, they got a slot in the Champions League which they must have been eliminated in the first round.

How does this work?

I am also curious as to how Europa is structured, if someone can explain briefly. Many thanks in advance. (watching Bournemouth/Newcastle at this moment)

Winning the SP does not guarantee them a Champions League slot. It allows them into the Champions League qualifying pool. They ended up losing to Malmo at the end of August. Had they won that, they would have advanced to the Champions League group stage. Losing in the Champions League qualifying rounds automatically places a team in the Europa League. Additionally, when the Champions League group stage is finished, the Top 2 teams advance and the 3rd place teams in each group are also transferred to the Europa League.

So if I understand it, Europa has at least 3 components - Europa Qualifiers (Liverpool), busted Champions Qualifiers (Celtic), & close but no cigar Champions Group teams (TBD). Am I getting closer?

Ah ok. Thanks. Didn't know there was a Champions League qualifying round. that clarifies everything.

Shaping up to be a great weekend with the Illini win, Chelsea loss, and hopefully and win for Palace tomorrow. I'm looking forward to what should be an entertaining NLD as well.

Potters beat Chelsea 1-0! Good Bye and Good Riddance Mourinho!

Jose watched from a hotel room. Oh, to be a fly on that wall.

Hazard looks like he's breaking out of his season long funk. The Blues are going to start climbing the table. Can they reach 4th? Going to be tough.
