So what’s the FBI’s goal? Are they looking to imprison as many people as possible? Probably not. Personally, I think they’ll be targeting those whom they view as enabling or creating the criminal environment, with a focus towards the money laundering activities. I think most coaches and players implicated won’t be the focus of the FBI beyond pressuring them to divulge additional evidence and leads.

Where I think it gets interesting is with Pitino and other “big ****s” as he’s refered to in this article. It certainly sounds like Pitino is influencing Adidas to commit fraud to his benefit. That’s a big deal in my opinion, and much different than passively accepting favors offered by Adidas. If that’s the case I think it’s reasonable to expect the FBI to find evidence of other high profile coaches influencing Adidas in a similar manner.

Five-star forward Nassir Little announces decision tonight at 6 p.m. Miami and Arizona had been involved, but trends lately point to UNC.

Or, as he's better known, Player 12.

I thought I read somewhere where the kids implicated in these money deals would be ineligible.

Yea, with a cloud hanging over "Player 12", it would make sense to go to a school that consistently thumbs its nose at the NCAA

Roy Williams has 'amnesia' when it comes to college basketball's seedy underworld

Great article today in yahoo sports that talks about the Myron Piggie case Roy Williams and Coach K were right in the middle of. Here is a choice quote from the article about old hypocrite Roy:

“They’ve never helped me get any player, never insinuated, never done anything,” Williams said of his relationship with Nike. Williams built a Hall of Fame career coaching at Nike schools Kansas (1988-2003) and UNC (2003-present). “We never even discuss things like that. So I know it’s foreign to me.”

“Well, that’s [expletive],” Piggie told Yahoo Sports. “I mean, come on. Come on. You know Roy knew. He was in the mix. He knew what was going on. Roy’s got amnesia.”

Or maybe he knows they have the top African American Studies program in the nation.

"I just love coach [Roy] Williams," Little told ESPN. "He really cares about the players off the court, which is important. They're a basketball school, which is something I wanted to be a part of. Coach Roy really knows how to win. I love winning. I really do. And that's important to me."

Ol' Coach Roy cares about the players off the court enough to ensure that they get degrees in fields like African American studies by taking fake classes, in the event that this basketball thing doesn't work out for them.

Proof positive that the Ol' Coach "really knows how to win".

John Calipari says players should be allowed representation, earn income off their likeness

On the surface it seems like Calipari is advocating for players until you realize that he doesn't mention players getting a share of the elephant in the room - revenue from ticket sales and media rights. That's because that would take money out of HIS pocket.

You'll see lots of these seemingly noble comments by coaches over the coming months, but just note that they will never suggest players get a share of the money that could reduce coaching salaries - that's THEIR money.
