I started at Illinois in 1977 and I have been saying that since 1978. The 0-0 tie with Rich Weiss as the qb was supposed to be the bottom, but it got worse.
I recall the loss to Navy on dad's day in 1979 was worse. Couldn't get a play off for a possible win or tie in the last seconds and ended up losing 13-12. Moeller and the coaching staff looked totally lost and didn't even call anything.

I agree they dont tell the entire story. But when the numbers are going to be that different, it's a good indication of a difference.
No list of defensive schemes?
Not really an indicator on a defense that allows 600 yards multiple times. I am done, enjoy the remaining season.

If you want to be done then dont reply.

2017/2018 stats:
Tackles solo/assist
28/22. 30/25
Tackles for Loss
4/11
Sacks
4/6.5
Pass breakups
3/7
Playing on a defense that gets shredded says more about how good he has been. If coverage was better, he would have more sacks. If the interior line clogged holes, he would have more tackles for loss. As you can see he has more production in both categories.
Be done. Hate the Defense. Dont care. Roundtree is much improved and having a really good year considering. Your current distain for the team isnt going to change that

Ah, the good ol' days!

Good call. Thanks a lot. I had erased that game from my memory.
I still had my Michigan 0-1-0 9/10 77 shirt until my wife threw it out a couple of years ago....memories. we were leading 3-0 and lost 37-9.

Was that the game Moeller tried to swap players for the 2-pt conversion (we scored at end of game ??) and time ran out for delay of game! omg he was bad.

That was it exactly. The players kept looking and looking for Moeller to do something and the clock just ran out. Plus it was cold as the arctic that day and the vendors ran out of coffee and hot chocolate!

If Mike Phair comes and brings in one of his own men I'd be ok with that too. Almost prefer he do that.
a bit of a culture change on that side of the ball makes a lot of sense.

Phair great guy and helluva coach but not the greatest of recruiters.

Brick Haley wouldn't surprise me. But you'd have to come up with some serious money to pay him. Wouldn't rule out either Hoke brother either.

From current special teams analyst Jake Zweig: "The power of the new gig Director of Player Development. I get to impact the whole team.....HERE WE GO! "

Zweig was brought in by Ligashesky before last season as an analyst. He's a former Navy SEAL, got his MBA at Michigan before going into coaching. Most recently he was at Findlay and the Minnesota Vikings with the Bill Walsh Coaching Fellowship. I like how this move seems to fit in with the Lovie recruiting pitch.

Director of Player Development doesn't exist on the list of staff right now, and I haven't seen this announced anywhere else yet. I wonder what other changes to the structure of the staff we will see this offseason.
