In a loss to LSU 76-65.

I think Coleman’s getting frustrated early in his K-State tenure. He might just now be realizing how good he had it here.

To be fair, I’ve never known him to react so physically toward someone. The point-and-blame afterwards, though? That’s classic Coleman.

not really the insult people think it is, you can still make a lot of money and play the sport you love.
Totally.. but to be drafted 1st round, which was always the goal… you can make millions and even if you don’t get a second contract, you’re set for life.

True but he came back to college because he wasn't going to be drafted in the 1st round.

I think the better question is why are we insulting a guy that gave us 4 years, helped us get to an Elite Eight, and has never had a bad thing to say about the program?

Welp..I hope Coleman invests that 2 mil well, because he ain’t going to the league.

Better get his passport ready to go overseas.
I was in CHicago during the NBA draft camp & sat behind Michael Finley from the Mavericks on the plane flying home to Dallas.. I asked him what he thought about Coleman getting drafted. He just smiled, shook his head, & said it ain't happening.

There was a point before last season started where I thought Coleman had a legitimate shot at being drafted. He had shown improvement every year and he had been told what he needed to work on. Last year, his 3-point shooting and decision making improved, but his all around offensive game never really materialized. His signature move is to start driving to the basket then stopping midway through. It kind of became clear midway through last season that he is a very good collegiate role player whose talents are valuable when surrounded by better scorers.

That’s not to say there’s not a spot for him in an NBA roster — hell, Scott Meents had a nice journeyman career — but he likely won’t be drafted and will have to latch on with the right team with a very specific need.

Because he left and plays for KSU. Coleman is incredible complementary player. But if he does not have talent around him he cannot carry a time. KSU should have spent $2M on more conventional players. I think he was very smart to get $2M. But the highest salary is rarely the best job. In portal players have to look out for #1. Amani, Sencire, Dain, Luke, would have been seen limited minutes on this team. I hated to see them go but wish them success.

How is anything being said here an insult?

I admire Coleman's love for IL hoops and the important role he played to help elevate our program. For that he will always be a beloved alumni.

But...

1) unless there is some miraculous improvement in his game and athleticism over the next 6 months, his draft stock isn't going to improve over where it was
2) that was a punk move on his part to straight-up cheap shot someone, even more-so when the game is over and LSU is just dribbling out the clock.

How is it not? If I were to say behind your back, "Well...I hope Hingle made some good investments because he ain't getting that promotion. Better get his resume ready." -- what would you consider that?

A factual statement? Yes the original tone was a bit cheeky but you hit that like Coleman in the LSU game.

Am I wrong in thinking that Coleman has the right of way? I get that the game is over and all that, but the LSU player clearly tries to prevent Coleman from continuing his movement towards the player with the ball. Coleman at that point has momentum, and the guy flips around and bashes into his path so Coleman braces himself.

Before I started my own company, I always had my resume ready :) That's just life in start-up tech world (for me), just like it is just life in Pro ball (for CoHawk).

I hope everyone invests their $$ well, as we are all gonna need it.

Coleman should be able to make a good living in pro ball, but he probably is making his max annual right now. I'd be happy for him to prove me wrong.

lol insult? It’s not an insult to call out someone. BUT even so, it’s sports and players and coaches get called out often.
