It has been said that CH means no TI. Also, CH means no KJ. So are you telling me you like
Boswell, DGL , White, CH, MJ better than KJ, Boswell, White, Humrichous, TI?
That's the myth. The reality of NIL is if someone wants something to happen......such as getting certain players, the money can be gotten if there is someone willing. There's no "salary cap".

Much more believable myth is that BU and CH decided it was over. But now I think both might have a little voice in their heads nagging them about it.

Sencire is now 4-43 from 3 on the season. What's the record for most attempts shooting a single digit percentage?
Sencire's teammates when he spots up behind the arc:

I think it really depends and I'd imagine the goal would have been getting a 5 to pair with Coleman either way.

In hindsight, you would keep the roster the same but trade Coleman for Humrichous and get an individual donor to pay Coleman after he withdraws from the draft while building the rest of the roster. However, Humrichous signed early and was thought to be a better shooter than he's been.

Coleman, Morez, and Ivisic would be a pretty nasty interior group and could cover all of your minutes at the 4/5.

The swap we shouldn't have made was Goode for BH. 42% from three and he's actually an EDG.
And much much less NIL, more for others or for the future

He is the ONLY player in Division I averaging at least 10.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game this season.
To put Coleman's accomplishments so far this season in perspective, here are the facts:

How many NCAA D1 Men’s basketball players are there?

Division LevelNumber of TeamsTotal Athletes
NCAA D13525,607

Year 3 🫵🏽

Not to diminish what Coleman's accomplished so far this year, but the more categories you add, the greater your chances of separating yourself from the pack. I'm sure there's a player who has similar or better points, rebounds and assists numbers but less so on steals or blocks.

Having said that, it's still a nice season for Coleman, stats wise. From a winning standpoint, notsomuch.

Hawk is a good player, can do a lot of things pretty well, valuable guy to have on your team. Having said that IMO the only $2mil player on any team is a guy that draws so much attention that he creates good shots and easy buckets for other players. CoHawk is not that player.

Amazing that less than two years ago, Jerome Tang was the hottest of hot commodities. Yeesh. Maybe he and Rodney Terry can team up to revive Chico State's once-proud program.

I've seen it time and time again in college basketball. A player or two is under-rated while people attribute team success to the coach. There's no great way to dissect success and predict the future, but I'm always dubious when a program or coach has recent success and people think he's next up for the HOF. There are always surprises in the sport, which is part of the fun in following it. In this era, boosters and everyone who shapes roster construction are making a difference too.
