Other than 2 late free throws late to seal the win more, Tre White a no show against Arizona.

DGL had a 29 pt game including a 20 pt first half in UNLV's upset over Grand Canyon. Very high usage as they have some injuries so UNLV is using DGL at the point. He was very aggressive, especially in the first half. Their team is not that great(11-12, 6-6 in conference play) but he is definitely making the most of his opportunities.
Somewhere Jerry Tarkanian is rolling over in his grave.

Lmao, yea....that is sad that UNLV beating Grand Canyon is considered an upset or a mild upset in 2026. The even sadder part was that I think there were more students who made a long bus ride from Phoenix to Vegas as there was a contingent of probably 500 GCU students in the upper part of the lower bowl at the arena whereas there was no organized contingent of a UNLV student section.

There were multiple times where DGL was trying to put his hands up to get the crowd to start cheering more. That's how sad the state of UNLV fandom is

But that logic is majorly flawed. Brad has been at Illinois for 8.5 years. Tre White has changed schools 7 times in less time than Brad has been here. So let’s not act like it’s the same thing.
Tre white is earning as much money as possible and good for him. Do I like CBB or CFB, No I do not like how its more and more like the pro version. I am happy players are being paid as they always should have.
Regarding Dgl, he is putting up shots like a machine gun and who cares. His days of ball are limited. I hope he enjoys what he thinks is Competing.

Why are you mad at DGL? He put in his 2 yrs of service to the U of I and wanted a larger role elsewhere and understood that wasn't going to be here as unfortunate as that is. Jake Davis is in a very similar situation this year where it's clear he can definitely play a larger role on a different team. It's very similar to Luke Goode from the year before that.

FG%: 49%
3 pt %: 37%

This is not Jayden Epps...not even close

These two thoughts greatly contradict each other.

Very efficient, season high 21 points for Adam Miller in Gonzaga’s win over Santa Clara. Hasn’t been a strong season for him personally, but at least he’ll get back to the tourney for the first time since his Illini season.

Saw that DGL had a big game for UNLV last night. He had a career-high 36 points in their OT win over Boise St, and is having a very good season. His shooting percentages are way up.

I don’t want to criticize DGL too harshly because he’s a former Illini who represented the university well during his time here, but…. A coach has to worry about winning and right now, DGL is the star player on a 13-12 team. When he says he’s “successful,” that doesn’t seem to be taking the team’s record into account.

DGL loves to play basketball and that's what he's getting to do so good for him. If that's all he wants he's going to be able to do that forever but he probably wont get paid much for it.

DGL is not a major contributor on this team. He's a great mid major player who can score a lot of points when he's given the opportunity. He was a great asset to our program and I wish him nothing but luck and it's great to see him doing so well!

Tre White with a big game last night in Kansas W over Houston! 23pts in 28 min, 6-9, 3-4 on 3's, 8-8 FT, 5RB.

His sentiment makes sense to me --you can hold two thoughts at the same time. E.g. someone could be happy they amputated a finger for a terminal infection while at the same time be sad and missing it greatly. Mixed feelings can encompass more than one thought. As the saying goes, we contain multitudes. I've seen enough threads to know there are a lot of us on the board who lament what we liked and lost from the previous era while being happy for NIL and players having a system that compensates them for what they do.

In that context, I don't see DLG and Illinois as a win/lose. I think both sides are winners. He tried for a bigger role but wasn't able to get it here, and is now making an impact on another team. Especially happy for him getting the most out of his limited time in college, whatever he feels that is.

DGL was unconscious the other night. Put up a 30 piece in the return game at Grand Canyon. He's really the only reason that they got semi back into the game as UNLV was down by 20ish points and they got to within 6 before GCU pulled away. He just doesn't have the horses behind him but he's definitely a great watch. Leading the Mountain West in scoring. He might be in line for a step back up into a major conference role somewhere at the rate he is going.

The week prior, UNLV went up against Colo St and it was cool to see DGL and Carey Booth playing against one another. Booth was not as good but he made his own contributions. Booth is where he needs to be at that type of conference. I think DGL can still play at a higher level conference

Over his last seven games, DGL is averaging 30.2 Pts / 2 Ast / 3 Rbd and shooting 53% from behind the arc on very high volume. UNLV is 5-2 over that stretch. Kid is balling out, and I’m very happy for him. Will be interesting to see if he goes back to a High Major next season.

Brad is great at spotting talent but his judgment on players when they are on campus can be puzzling. Like with Podziemski and last year not playing Gibbs-Lawhorn more after Jakucionis hurt his shoulder late in the year. Jakucionis probably should not have played after his shoulder injury since he was a turnover machine. He had 15 turnover the last 3 games of the season. I would love to have a 3 guard rotation this year of Wagler, Boswell & DGL.
