• Skyy Clark started for Louisville in a one-point win over UMBC. Finished with 11 points and three assists

• Omar Payne started for UCF in the win over FIU, posted four points, six rebounds, two blocks and five fouls.

• BBV played 11 minutes in South Carolina’s win over USC Upstate, had 2 points and 2 rebounds

Curbelo missed game 1 waiting on NCAA waiver decision...

"Ladner said the Southern Miss compliance office has been in touch with NCAA officials and hopes to hear back in the next 24 to 48 hours.

For now though, he’ll have to sit. “The NCAA is not consistent at times and they are not predictable,” Ladner said, “but he certainly fits and checks the boxes that they have listed as the guidelines.”

I thought that as well. A new beginning can do wonders especially coupled with opportunity. I hope they have success and find their happiness

Early prediction. RJ will not be this year's Podz.
He is not Podz but he is somebody we could have used. Likely better than Quincy Guerrier. I don't blame RJ cuz he lost his confidence last year for some reasons.

Guerrier looked great against Kansas but in the limited play we've seen him has overall looked inconsistent. Based on his time in Oregon, that's not necessarily unexpected either. That said, there will likely be games where he's phenomenal this season and others where he disappears. Overall, RJ really struggled last year so hard to know what his contribution level would really have been with us. But I think Quincy probably will have higher peaks this year, but it may not translate game to game.

yes no no yes yes

Fairly impressive that RJ, Skyy, Epps. Lieb and Serven all started for their new teams.
I've got nothing against Jayden. From all reports it seems there were multiple reasons he left and that he really didn't like his time in Champaign. Just seems like Illinois was a bad fit for him. Hard for me to blame him for transferring if he was miserable here and I am hoping that he's a lot happier and at peace at Georgetown.

I know I would rather have Guerrier on this roster than RJ. Good luck RJ

I don't wish him ill will; the original post was success and happiness. Be at peace, fine. Turn into an All-American / Podz redux at Georgetown, no thanks.

My head moved back and forth on this post like a tennis match. :)

Guerrier seems to have a lot of Matt Mayer in terms of inconsistent play being their reputation. I think that's ok if he's our 5th/6th option and not 2nd or 3rd option like Matt was. I'm really hoping domask is our steady 2nd/3rd option!

Sure glad he was so inconsistent last night. If he plays that solidly this season I will never think of RJ again.. Honestly I see no comparison between these two. At this point I would take Quincy 100 times over RJ and his inconsistent defense and lack of shooting
