My only hope for this game is that someone grows up with Malcolm in the bench all game: JCL, DJW, AJ. Would be great if someone had a "he might be the guy next year" game
It would also send a message to the upper class men that didn't show up ready to go. Lots of benefits to giving the young guys a go.

How can you hope to win a road game when you spot the opposing team 15 pts to start the game?

if they can put their shoulder down and walk in the lane we don't have any chance even if we play well

Way to have this team prepared.

How much of this can be attributed to the loss of Brandon Miller after Groce's first season? That first season of Groce's tenure the dialog had a focus on advanced metrics and strategy.

The Illinois staff received compliments on the gameplan they devised against #1 seed Miami.

What has happened since then?

The minutes certainly don't show any reliance on the advanced metrics. The team seems to be consistently playing with a disadvantaged gameplan.

Was Brandon Miller that important? Was it inheriting Weber's players? An Anomaly?

Go back and watch that Miami game. Its hard to believe that team and this team are coached by the same staff.

I remember one game, late 80's (maybe) whenIU was in CU and Bob Knight got so disgusted with his starters that about 1/2 halfway through the first half he sat them for the rest of the game. Of course we won, but it's always been interesting to me that he in essence forfeited the guts send a message.

If there is a positive, seven team fouls on Indiana.

Plus, Hoosiers have let opponents come back in games. This game is far from over.

I agree 100% -- I was in Maui that year and watched in-person as our team CRUSHED everyone in that tournament, including a Butler team who was pretty talented in the championship. Where's that swagger? What the h has happened?

Dear diary. Today I saw Thorne make a move to the basket that wasn't a hook shot. Anything can happen!

I really wish DJ would get more tick. He has length and athleticism and is someone that could be a huge contributor in the next two seasons when we get the athletic croots in. I would hate to see him transfer.
