We had better players then. Paul, DJ, Egwu, Hill, Tracy(?). Recruiting bears the blame imo.
It's hard to not point to other attributes of that team, too. They played defense better, a carry over from the Weber era no doubt. They could implement what the coaches asked of them, another potential benefit of the Weber training. Not pining for Weber here, but something has been missing in the teaching department since his players left.

Well prepared once again under Groce. No offensive system, no movement, half hearted pick attempts. Sad

This is pretty much how I expected this game to go earlier in the season when the Hoosiers beat UNC and KU. The last few games had given me hope, however. Oh well.

Talk about being exposed and completely embarrassed for the second time in 3 games. Do we have anyone coaching these kids? They look like they are running around with their heads cut off out there.

Josh Whitman needs to be on a plane to California as we speak. This is pathetic. I've turned off more Illinois games in the last 2 years than I have in 20 years. Bring in Martin and turn this thing around asap.

Come on. They've almost tripled the score on us? Please. No interior defense no three point defense, this is ridiculous.

I agree 100% -- I was in Maui that year and watched in-person as our team CRUSHED everyone in that tournament, including a Butler team who was pretty talented in the championship. Where's that swagger? What the h has happened?

Totally agree. This team has no belief. I think they're better than they do, and you're right, that's very different than Groce's first team, plus any team that had Ray Rice on it.

Horrible horrible call again. Kid loses his dribble, Tracy reaches for it while he gets held and it's a foul on Tracy. HORRIBLE. I know we look awful and don't deserve to win, but the Big Ten must really want IU to win this game.

I see flashes of Hill having that killer look and then he shows up to games like this and just meh. Really hoping that Frazier and Tilmon bring it back next year. Both of them, especially Trent, seem to me like they play with an attitude and swag.

What an embarrassment. 3 conference games so far and 2 of them our players don't look like they belong on the same floor as the other guys. Just getting absolutely spanked.

IU probably doesn't need the Big Ten's help.

Please go small and quick rest of the half.

DJ, Black, Tejon, Abrams, and Jcl or Jordan.

I can't watch yet - stats make it sound like Abrams is having a terrible game again. Is that right? I think he is a key part of how we do on the road. Need him and Malcolm to come through our we're dead.

I don't care if we lose in competitive games. Games that are blowouts 5 mins into the game are unacceptable. Goodbye Groce.
