Two points between ayo and Georgi is not going to cut it. Iowa has 7 or 8 capable big ten players that can contribute now..we have three or four...maybe a couple that will get there

Somebody said in another thread earlier this year he is entering Chester Frazier territory... I am kinda disappointed to say I agree. Was hoping Williams would be more multidimensional.

Williams had a good game against Minny and has had a coulple decent games recently. I think he will have a breakout game this year. He still just a sophomore and has a lot of games still to play in an Illini uniform

1. A lot adjust, but start with 3-point defense

2. Keep shooting Ayo and AJ. Giorgi is not going to bring us back in this game against Garza. Only way back is if shots start falling.

3. NCAA refs are very inconsistent. That said, fouls are basically where you’d expect with these two teams. And we are shooting 50% on free throws, so I’m not sure we should be in a rush to get to one-and-ones.

Why do we always leave someone wide open on the wing for an easy three pointer? Seriously, even our competitive/semi-good teams have done this. Can someone who understands basketball better than I do explain this? What the hell?!

They are shifting, Ayo got too far away, couldn’t get back to him in time. This happens when you ball watch.

If anyone thought what we saw at home was going to magically transfer on the road vs. a really good #23 Iowa team, you're getting way to caught up in the moment of Minnesota. Waiting to see Wisconsin back at home (who Minney beat in Madison prior to our game) to see if the progress can truly continue.

And people killed Robert for saying we may lose 6 straight and Minnesota doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme...

sucks when the refs let you play as they did against Minny and then touch / crap fouls now - got to adjust boys.

Agree..if Ayo had made a couple threes..we would be marginally in it but Minnesota was a pleasant outlier..maybe we have a few more of those but we don't have people that can score by just out talenting people...kofi will help but need more...Wisconsin...they did not look great against Michigan but you know their big guy will abuse us

and he should have been killed. winning on the road in the big 10 is very tough - this is a good Iowa team at full strength. if we can keep it close and play hard that will be a positive.

While it may not have a huge impact in the amount of points we put up on the board from the line, it would impact the amount of points the other team puts up on the board if a few of their bigs weren't on the floor.

Really don’t want to dislike a college kid but boy I dislike Kipper’s on court demeanor and attitude most games.

More Samba Kane and his excellent posterior defense in the 2nd half please!

Tevian has a lot to prove...all he has shown me is that he can shoot the three and fouls more than anybody I have ever seen

Cook was camped out in the lane for at least 5 seconds

Ayo's shot is no where near consistent enough yet for the next level. All the intangibles in the world he'll need up there but I hope those advising him will understand and tell him how much he could benefit from another year at this level.

He's had an off half. Not sure you can worry about any given small sample size.

What concerns me more was the lazy pass that led to a TO. He has to improve his play-making and decision making IMO to make it to the next level.

We're on the road and out-matched, so I think we just need to see these guys keep fighting and hope they keep learning. Iowa's a legitimately good team. Not elite, but definitely solid.
