Two points between ayo and Georgi is not going to cut it. Iowa has 7 or 8 capable big ten players that can contribute now..we have three or four...maybe a couple that will get there
Somebody said in another thread earlier this year he is entering Chester Frazier territory... I am kinda disappointed to say I agree. Was hoping Williams would be more multidimensional.
They are shifting, Ayo got too far away, couldn’t get back to him in time. This happens when you ball watch. Why do we always leave someone wide open on the wing for an easy three pointer? Seriously, even our competitive/semi-good teams have done this. Can someone who understands basketball better than I do explain this? What the hell?!
And people killed Robert for saying we may lose 6 straight and Minnesota doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme...
Agree..if Ayo had made a couple threes..we would be marginally in it but Minnesota was a pleasant outlier..maybe we have a few more of those but we don't have people that can score by just out talenting people...kofi will help but need more...Wisconsin...they did not look great against Michigan but you know their big guy will abuse usIf anyone thought what we saw at home was going to magically transfer on the road vs. a really good #23 Iowa team, you're getting way to caught up in the moment of Minnesota. Waiting to see Wisconsin back at home (who Minney beat in Madison prior to our game) to see if the progress can truly continue.
and he should have been killed. winning on the road in the big 10 is very tough - this is a good Iowa team at full strength. if we can keep it close and play hard that will be a positive. And people killed Robert for saying we may lose 6 straight and Minnesota doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme...
1. A lot adjust, but start with 3-point defense
2. Keep shooting Ayo and AJ. Giorgi is not going to bring us back in this game against Garza. Only way back is if shots start falling.
3. NCAA refs are very inconsistent. That said, fouls are basically where you’d expect with these two teams. And we are shooting 50% on free throws, so I’m not sure we should be in a rush to get to one-and-ones.
Ayo's shot is no where near consistent enough yet for the next level. All the intangibles in the world he'll need up there but I hope those advising him will understand and tell him how much he could benefit from another year at this level.
