No time to go deep because the OL is getting beat like a drum!Does Lunney ever call a deep play down the field? It’s like every play is a short pass, or a slant, etc.
You and me both.I entered Illinois in the fall of 1964. We had come off an easy Rosebowl win against Washington the previous New Year's Day featuring Butkus and Grabowski and company. The first game I attended was the Homecoming game against Ohio State who was a patsy in those days. We lost 26-0 or thereabouts. I have followed my Illini ever since and, ever since, with few exceptions they have never failed to disappoint. But my hopes come again every year and then a game like this comes along. Am I a hopeless optimist or a fool or both? I'm beginning after all these years to believe the latter.
Good news, we don’t play next week!
We bought season tickets. Soon it will be tough to give them away. Nobody wants to watch this sort of game.Ugh, I was at the very least excited for a fun atmosphere to show my wife at Big Noon Kickoff next week … watch attendance tank, and I blame no one.
We’re chirping constantly. I really, really don’t understand why, and more importantly, why it’s continuing. We're chirping after a turnover on downs?
What is this?
Nope! We looked like crap for most of last week as well. Toledo was the better team, we just snuck away with a win. The environment was off the hook last week at home and we all wanted to believe in this team but lo and behold it’s just the same old Illinois. It’s one half of our first road game against a pretty good team. EVERYONE NEEDS TO STEP AWAY FROM THE LEDGE!
In fairness to Bryant, that was a terrible pass he had to lay out for. A better pass and he had the first (from how I saw it)Why are we running routes below the line to gain. We did this a lot last year two. 4 yards to go and running 2 yard routes….
You need to play like Devon Witherspoon to run your mouth like thatWe’re chirping constantly. I really, really don’t understand why, and more importantly, why it’s continuing.
