One problem with allowing an inferior team to stay in the game with you is that you give too much power to the refs to impact the outcome of the game.
The biggest problem is that you give the other team confidence. That's what's occurred here.

Pathetic tonight. Goodness. It's almost March and we can't sustain high level of play. Recipe for major disappointment with two potential NBA level players.
All MSU has to do is make every possession slow and difficult. Then take their time and get good shots. Illini trying to play fast works for them.
Getting off my emotional rollercoaster for a second, he was a great player. Talk about injuries submarining a career. He's just now getting back into form. Tough player, long road back....nice story.

As much as it pains me to admit, Ayo isn't competing at a high enough level so far. We need him to fight for rebounds. These offensive rebounds we're giving up are killing us. We need him to set the tone for us on that aspect of the game.
