Have to be careful here. People are going to construe that first half as we were mentally tough, the refs were good, we're into the game and running good offense because the ball is going into the basket, so no droughts. We've hit an insane amount of jumpers. Can't expect that type of shooting or for Plummer to go for 50. This is the live by the three, die by the three team that we are. Hope they find a way to get easier buckets from another source.

Tell me if I’m wrong…every time they bring up the Meltdown in Madtown, or whatever…they called it. They go out of their way to mention that Gard was fined 10k for his part. I don’t think they even admitted JH was even fined…they just
go right into: the man apologized geez.

I like like Raftery…but geez.
Gotta read more quickly Wyatt...right under the Gard memo was another that said Howard was fined $40,000. Not a parking ticket exactly. Also 5 game suspension. It will be interesting to see how their athletic dept. deals with it beyond the B1G. Of course, the very dept. has a history of promoting cheating for 100+ years. Comprised of true Michigan Men.

Very first reaction is that his coaching at Florida was either not good or he didn't take to it. HIs bball IQ is not real good, possibly adjusting to new system as well. Hopefully next year, things slow down for him and he increases his skillset beyond lobs and dunks.
Payne has an odd body shape ....his legs look to long or his torso is to short .....something looks out of kilter and his balance isn't the best for a big man ......
yes , we need him with BBV still out , but , IMHO , BBV is a better choice when we take Kofi out .....BBV has a high BB IQ and he never stops hustling .....strong as an ox and won't be pushed around .....if only he could make a bunny layup.......

Like CoHawk or not, you can't coach someone to be tall and he is and we need it sometimes. I for one will live with a few mistakes to have that big body in there sometimes.

Thinking our Illini have outplayed Mich in this game is fool's gold. Mich has more boards, steals, blocks, and assists and is shooting a respectable 47%. We have Plummer. The only truly bright spot other than his career performance is the Illini have 4....that is right....FOUR....turnovers for the half. Knowing what we know about this team, I would only feel good if I were Michigan. Kofi can be the big plus in the second half as he had a pretty quiet first half though not weak. Keep moving the ball quickly, play defense hard, and keep the turnovers in single digits for the game and it will be a win.
Agree. We can close the rebounding gap.

Martelli commented last game at halftime for MI that they WANT teams to shoot more 3's on them so they can get the long rebounds and run transition. If we shoot those 3's, they had better come from our 3-4 good shooters and be from running the offense.

I am all for pound it into Kofi until they stop him. Draw fouls or get points or both

I like that Kofi is taking it strong on Dickinson but he has to make shots from 1-2 feet! He should’ve had an and one and ended up missing 2 free throws!

One on one, Cockburn wins. Rinse, repeat. All day.
Kofi and Belo are tired.

If Kofi has his back to Dickinson, pivots and turns, he cannot square his shoulders to him. It will get blocked. He has to stay tall and create more space with one shoulder and his upper body.
